Versed Good Defense Daily Sunscreen for Face - SPF 50 PA Broad Spectrum Chemical Sunscreen for All Skin

FYI: My skin type is combo to dry, very acne-prone with minor type 2 rosacea, sensitive skin and very sensitive eyes. Also, I have used over 50 different sunscreens at this point. I have ALWAYS struggled to find a sunscreen that feels hydrating, non-irritating, and is safe for my very picky acne-prone skin. I have tried TONS of asian (kbeauty and jbeauty) sunscreens and also so many american and european sunscreens. For some reason, the asian sunscreens leave my skin somewhat dehydrated, craving more moisture, and my eyes are always burning. The asian sunscreens are also incredibly lightweight and feel like nothing on the skin. The european sunscreens are a bit heavier, most leaving a more dewy finish, while more unlikely to irritate my eyes. I have also tried a ridiculous amount of mineral sunscreens after being diagnosed with type 2 rosacea. While most of the mineral sunscreens were okay for my eyes, some really irritated and cause severe dryness to my skin. I also noticed that tinted options never really worked well for me, and somehow, mineral sunscreens would end up causing breakouts. One night about a month ago, I went down a TikTok rabbit hole and found an influencer reviewing sunscreens. I watched as she applied this sunscreen and it appeared to make her skin look beautiful. She also mentioned no eye sting. After being impressed with the review, I found it here and also looked on the Versed website. I was VERY happy to discover that it is supposed to be hydrating, non-irritating, and acne safe. I immediately hit the buy now button! Now after using this for the past month, I can't find anything better. This comes out of the tube in a yellow gel, and applies like a beautiful water gel. It has a sunscreen smell thanks to the american chemical filters, but I was shocked to find out that it does not irritate my eyes at all throughout the day (unless it happens to get directly in my eye). The finish on this is dewy and somewhat shiny at first, but after a few minutes, the shine seems to settle, and my skin looks like a beauty filter. This has not caused any breakouts for me, and it seems to help keep my skin calm. This is such a hidden gem in my opinion! I am so happy to have landed on this sunscreen! You know it is a good product when your partner tries to steal it from you even when they dislike sunscreen. Overall, I am super impressed, and I am just about done with my first tube. I love how easy this sunscreen is to apply. It does leave you looking a little shiny but nothing some loose power can’t fix. Wears well all day and the bottle lasts me for about a month. One pump will cover my whole face and sometimes I’ll have some left to apply on my neck. Really great product. Read more

I’m always looking for a good paraben-free, broad spectrum sunscreen. I’m very fair skinned and burn easily. Having something especially for the face is optimal at all times of the year. My tube has an expiration date of 12/26 (it’s currently 6/25). This sunscreen comes in tube with a pump top and cap. The pump is not one of those locking ones where you can turn and lock it. It’s free to depress at all times, which is fine because of the cap. There’s no straw at the end of the pump. You may need to squeeze the tube and pump it at the same time to get some sunscreen to dispense. The sunscreen itself is an extremely light canary yellow color - almost white. The consistency is very smooth and creamy, but a bit greasy. It hardly has any scent at all. I bet many people could detect nothing when smelling this (I have a sensitive nose). I think what I do smell is just the natural smell of the ingredients, and they are not offensive in the slightest. The sunscreen feels nice on my skin, doesn’t leave a white cast, and hydrates well. I put too much on at first and had to wipe some off. I think you’ll only need a very small amount for your face. It does have a dewy effect, leaving the skin looking shiny and a little wet. After a few hours, it felt a little greasy, but did sink in some, leaving my skin very soft. After being in the sun, I didn’t seem to experience any burning. My sensitive skin didn’t react to it. I didn’t break out. Overall, I think it’s alright. I prefer sunscreens that are less greasy, and have a slightly less dewy effect. The squeezable tube and pump top combo might make it a little hard to dispense, especially when there isn’t much left. The pump top can be taken off, and this might come in handy later. I do like a lot of things about this sunscreen, but the aforementioned issues give me reason to give this 4 stars instead of 5. Read more

Amazing sunscreen! It is almost a gel like consistency, with a slightly yellow tint but once applied it is completely clear. It feels more like a serum when rubbing it in, and the best part it doesn’t pill easily at all. You can work it in and pat it into skin, takes a lot of effort to get this product to pill. After about 10-15 minutes once fully absorbed this works so well under makeup! Read more
