Very light color. Excellent product
I wanted a mineral based, spf 50 tinted sunscreen for my face. Have previously had squamous cancer removed from my face and a high spf was important . I had a sample of another brand I fell in love with, but a high price kept me from buying it. I read the reviews on VGO and felt it was very similar at a price I could afford . I was impressed by the their clinical research, ingredients and statements. It does blend well on the skin, does not crease in my wrinkles, stays on very good through perspiration and can be worn alone without makeup or used as a base. I loved it. I took a star off because it is to white. Their statement said the color is light to medium. It doesn't get close to a medium color and actually is too light for this white girl. (70 year old woman.) Okay, so this VGO tinted sunscreen almost had me. SPF 50, oil-free, no oxybenzone, has a touch of skincare… all good things. The texture is lovely — smooth, soft-matte, non-greasy — and it layers nicely under makeup without pilling. But then... white cast. Not terrible, but noticeable, especially on my medium skin tone. If you’re deeper, I’d definitely patch test first. The coverage is sheer, more like a skin tint than a real tinted moisturizer, which is fine for lazy days or makeup primer duty. But I can’t wear this on its own without doing a little damage control — blending it in carefully, adding bronzer or a powder to balance out the slight chalkiness. Another nitpick? The cap doesn’t stay on tightly. It pops off too easily, which is not ideal if you’re tossing this into a bag or travel kit. Overall, the formula isn’t effortless — you have to work it a little to make it look right. Read more
