I was looking to buy an ice maker for camping, After doing research we came across with this one and I bought it. The shipping was fast. The quality of this ice maker is great. It has been really easy to assemble. We were able to used it on our camping trip and it works great. Very easy to use and quiet. It doesn't take up much room on the counter. I was surprised how fast it makes ice, we didnt have to worry about running out of ice anymore. I love how fast these cute little ice cubes are made. They are small enough to put in water bottles. I’ve been using this VIBOFROST countertop ice maker at home and I’m really happy with it. It starts making ice very quickly and the bin fills up faster than I expected. The ice is small nugget / pebble-style pieces, just like you get at good drink shops – perfect for iced coffee, milk tea, sodas, or just chewing. The machine is very easy to use. The control panel is simple and the indicator lights clearly show when you need to add water or when the ice basket is full. The stainless-steel body and clear lid look sleek and modern on the countertop, and it feels well-made, not cheap. Noise level is totally acceptable – you can hear it working, but it’s more of a low background sound and doesn’t bother us in the kitchen. Our refrigerator ice maker broke down, so we resorted to using ice traces the old fashion way but it was messy, had a funny smell in taste, and very inconvenient. We were reluctant but decided to try out this nugget ice maker, and it was our most rewarding decision! The unit is solid and compact! beautiful, and works great around the clock! This maker works well once we plug in and just pour in clean water. Small ice nuggets start coming within 10 minutes, and quickly fill the container. We use ice cubes for iced coffee, and don't add extra funny taste. We use these small ice cubes in a blender to make smoothies for my son, and he loves it, and doesn't complain about chunky ice in the drink! Awesome for a soda drink! Now, my story. I received this unit, opened the box and let it set while I went to work. The directions say to let it set upright for a couple of hour (I saw one that said it should be sitting upright for 10 hours). No poblem. When I came back, I unpacked and set it up in the same spot as my old ice maker. The cord seemed to be shorter, and so I plugged it in and stretched the cord. The cord was just long enough. However, by plugging in the machine, the unit went through a check and prepared to make ice. I had not put water into it. No problem. I wiped it out and filled it with filtered water and pushed the power button....and nothing happened. I unplugged it and replugged it in, and the lights came on, but no "making ice" light. It would not even reset. So, I went searching everywhere on information on how to do a factory reset. I sent an email to the manufacturer, and sent a message on their web site. No response. How difficult can it be? Has to be some trick to it. So, I pushed the clean and the power button at the same time. Well, it cleaned. That takes a couple of hours. When that was done, I pushed the power button again, but no luck. By the way, the power button has no real tactile response, and so I do now know if I was really pushing the button properly. I tried holding in the power button, hit the power button multiple times thinking that there was a code. After I came back from work, I was wondering if I had put out over $200 for a dud, but I did not give up. I unplugged the unit and pushed the power button and plugged it in at the same time. The panel flashed twice. I got a result, but when I pushed the power button, it still did not light up "making ice." I tried it again with the same result. After a third time, the panel did not light up. I pushed the power button, and SUCCESS!!! The "making ice" light came on and it started working. Only one time has it stopped working. It whined and pumped out water. The compressor was not turning on. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, crossed my fingers, and the compressor kicked on and it continued making ice. Once the ice maker started working, it works really well. This unit makes a lot of ice in a short amount of time, and it keeps making ice until it is filled to the top. It makes more ice than what we need. Love the small pellets. I filled a freezer bag in one day, and that was after filling mugs. So, it is a great unit. We will see if it last long. Read more
I’ve only used this nugget ice maker a couple of times so far, but I’m already really impressed. It started producing ice within about 10 minutes, and the texture is exactly what I was hoping for — that soft, chewable “Sonic-style” nugget ice that’s perfect for drinks. The ice comes out quickly and tastes clean, which tells me the built-in filtration and self-cleaning system are doing their job. The machine looks great on my countertop — the black stainless steel design feels sturdy and modern. It’s also quieter than I expected; you can hear it working, but it’s not disruptive. I haven’t had to clean it yet, but I like that it has a self-cleaning and anti-scale system to make maintenance easier. Since I’ve only used it a few times, I can’t speak for long-term reliability yet, but my first impressions are very positive. I've only used this machine a few times, but I'm already loving it. First, it looks great on my kitchen countertop and doesn't take up much space. Plus, its size makes it easy to move if needed. Second, it makes ice very quickly. I can hear the process, but the noise isn't bothersome. The ice cubes are a perfect size, which I'm very satisfied with.
