I bought my first VICSEED car phone mount 2 years ago in June 2020 after doing a bunch of comparative research between the popular Amazon models, paying attention to the photo reviews. In particular, I find that I really need these key things in a good phone mount: a "one-touch" release button, a clamp that holds my phone securely that can be adjusted to fit different sized phones (not a wedge or pocket), and a fully adjustable clamp that rotates the phone to any viewing angle I please. I dislike the suction cup/sticky mounts because I've gone through a couple of them since 2014 and they always eventually fall off (at the worst times while you're driving) or you can't reliably adjust the mount in the future. This VICSEED phone mount is my holy grail, especially with the updated air vent clamp that now comes with little teeth at the end that prevent the clamp from slipping off the vent tab. That would occasionally happen to me with the old model, which I found really frustrating and downright dangerous after driving on a bumpy road and the old model fell off and slipped under my brake pedal. I immediately emailed the customer help info (little card that came with the item, or you can google it) and got a response within 24 hours. Two very polite and friendly staff members confirmed my order and address info, and shipped me the new updated clamp. I have had ZERO problems with this VICSEED model and I love how it's the right balance of sturdy but adjustable. In the first photo I attached, you can see the difference in the old clamp (shown at the bottom) and the new clamp (the one on the top right that has teeth). Note that the new clamp for the air vent has a slightly longer reach, which accommodates most air vent tabs that aren't super long. I drive a Toyota RAV4 2019 and my mom drives a Toyota RAV4 2016 (where these photos are from), and the mount works perfectly with the air vents next to the touchscreen (not the one to the left of the steering while). Keep in mind that if your air vents have extra long tabs (like my own Toyota Sienna van), the new clamp will not work, since the teeth need to be able to lock securely /behind/ the tab. You'll want to opt for the no-teeth clamp version instead, which fits with any kind of air vent regardless of tab length. The new clamp with teeth prevents the car mount from /ever/ slipping off, because the teeth lock behind the tab in the air vent. If it comes off, it's because it was broken off. INSTALLATION can be a little tricky, but all the parts are solidly built. The ball-socket joint that allows you to rotate the mount is very smooth, but you will need to apply some force to get the ball into the socket. Do NOT jam it in. (1) I recommend first screwing the circular "washer" part lightly onto the car mount, so that it is still a little loose. (2) Look at the rotating piece around the clamp, it looks like a capital letter "I" as in the word India. Make sure that piece is a little loose--it controls whether the clamp is held closed. You will adjust and tighten it later after you've clamped down on your chosen air vent tab. (3) Both rotating pieces should be loosened for later adjustment. Firmly push the ball joint of the air vent clamp into the circular part, until it clicks into place. (Be patient, or have someone else try. I couldn't manage after 5 minutes and my mother got it right on the first go.) (3) Now you can take this thing out to your car. Select an air vent that you want to use and push the clamp around the air vent tab and in as far back as it will go--if you can squeeze the clamp shut with your fingers and not be able to pull it out when it's shut, then the "teeth" on the clamp have locked behind the air vent tab. (Picture a crocodile eating a long chunk of meat cleanly in one snap, with nothing poking out of its mouth.) Congrats, your air vent is compatible with this model and not too long. (4) Now you'll tighten the "I"-shaped rotating piece in front of the clamp so the clamp stays shut; you can remove your fingers to test if it feels securely shut. (Remember that "turning right is turning tight.") (5) Now rotate the ball-socket joint until the car mount is at a preferable viewing angle. You may find it helpful to actually put your phone in to see what it'll look like. When you're satisfied with the angle, tighten down the circular piece until it's snug. This is very secure and my phone never wobbles when I'm driving on bumpy roads, but you'll get the hang of adjusting it until it's the perfect angle and you'll never have to touch it again. (6) Final notes: you put your phone in by squeezing the two clamps on either side of your phone, and release the phone by pushing the button on the bottom left (if you're looking at your phone screen). The button is super easy to use and the set-up allows my family to use an iPhone 6s and the iPhone 12 Pro Max without issue. I've gone through 7-8 different kinds of phone holders and hands down this is my favorite. The way it's engineered to attach to the vent is very secure and will accommodate different air vent sizes (except for round vents...but Vicseed makes a mount specially designed for round air vents like that in a 06 Toyota Matrix). The design to grip the phone is also very intuitive and easy to use with one hand...place the phone in the holder then squeeze in the tabs to adjust and lock them in place. To release, simply press the button on the left and the tabs are spring loaded to retract. I like this product so much that I've bought one for all of my cars (Toyota Sequoia, Kia Sedona) and even for my parents' cars. This is a high quality product that is well designed and well executed. I own a high end sports car and have had a difficult time finding a phone mount that would hold my phone. All the prior ones would fly off the air vent when doing high g turns and end up in the passenger compartment and would lose their ability to hold the phone at my chosen angle. Not this one. It stays in place and it does not succumb to gravity and end up pointing at the Floor at a 45 degree angle. It is super easy to mount my Samsung s21 to it as well as dismount. And unlike prior ones, so far the mount/dismount process does not result in the phone mount changing angles. It is at the same angle and direction ad when I first installed it. We will see how it holds up over time, but already it is way better than any others I have owned. [Update] I just got done with a 1500 mile drive, including the Tail of the Dragon in the Smoky Mountains and many other super curvy roads at good G force speeds. I did not have to adjust this thing once. In fact I have not had to tighten, readjust, move or anything this mount since the day I mounted it and found the right position. The best I have ever had by a huge margin. As long as it fits your vents and you tighten it down, I do not see this thing letting you down. Super happy with this purchase. Read more

Durable holder have had mine 2 years still works good.Have to tighten it up every now and then doesn’t effect quality tho.Button to release it works good still.Has good grip. Only downside was it broke my vent plastic where it clamps onto it not a fan of that, was the main reason for the 3 star.So it’s something to really consider when deciding on a vent holder verse others.All and all its durable, has good grip ,fairly easy to release phone.Just have to be careful I can break your vent flap.
