This is probably the best bang for the buck currently on a 4K TV. I sat and researched various TVs for a couple of weeks prior to purchase and came to the conclusion that the added cost of competing models wasn't worth it according to my needs. The picture is very nice and the viewing angle is acceptable with little loss in visual quality unless you happen to be at an extreme angle. The blacks are dark and the colors nice and vivid with little to no loss in quality at standard viewing angles. The upscaling of 1080p content to 4K works nicely without any noticeable loss of visual quality. The smart TV features are so so, but that can be remedied by using a more capable device such as an Nvidia Shield TV, Google Nexus Player, or Xiaomi Mi Box. The only real gripe I have is the VESA pattern is 200mm, I'd have much rather prefered 400mm just for peace of mind. Over all, you'd be hard pressed to find a better 4K TV at this price. Read more

The picture quality is amazing on this TV! I replaced my 2014 Vizio E60 and really impressed so far. We primarily use over air broadcast and Roku 3. The 4K upscaling works great. PCMag.com, rtings.com, and televisions.reviewed.com have full reviews that showed me this was clearly the best value 4K tv for 2016. I used same websites for calibration. Still waiting on CNET to write a review on this tv. One note the Ultraflix 4K streaming service doesn't have that much content yet. Ultraflix runs a internet speed test and confirmed mine is 40 mbps. I have streamed two 4K movies with mixed results. One buffered quite a bit early on in the movie but the movies were on the summer sale and only $2.99. I think Netflix has a premium plan $12.99 that allows 4k streaming that I will probably check out in the future along with YouTube content. Do yourself a favor and buy this if your in the market for a value 4K tv. Read more

I decided to make my initial foray into 4k TV with the VIZIO D50u-D1. Good reviews, and a reasonable price made it seem like the perfect option. It was for about the first month, and has since turned into the most aggravating big electronic purchase I have made to date. Due to this I will start with the cons. Cons About one month after buying this TV it started to randomly reset itself. Whether I was in the middle of a movie, TV show, or playing video games, it would randomly shut down, and restart. The boot up process for this TV takes about 20 seconds, so to be interrupted that long while in the middle of something can be incredibly frustrating. It leaves you scrambling for your remote to pause what you were in the middle of, and hopefully be where you were when the TV shut off. Sometimes this will only happen every couple of hours, or sometimes as often as 3 times in a ten minute span. But without a doubt, it happens everytime I use the TV. Incredibly frustrating. Sometimes after the TV will reset it becomes unresponsive. What's on the screen will still continue, but volume, power, and any function using the remote or button on the TV would yield no results. The only fix I found would be to unplug the TV, and power cycle it by holding down the power button for fifteen seconds. The Youtube app. Sometimes instead of resetting, the TV will decide it wants to open the Youtube app no matter what you were in the middle of. The screen will turn gray, and take about 10 seconds to pop up the Youtube logo. The menu on the TV is quite slow, and clunky. It gets the job done, but inputting anything is a bit of a slog. PS4 Pro; this will only effect a small group of people I'm sure, but if you have a PS4 Pro and looking to take advantage of 4k gaming, I would not recommend the Vizio brand. I did not know until I received my Pro a couple weeks ago that after the 4.5 patch the Pro was having trouble with Vizio, and LG TVs. Instead of 4k gaming I was introduced to a 'No signal" message. It wasn't until I booted the Pro is safe mode, and disabled 4k features that it worked. Of course this kind of defeated the purpose of having a 4k TV in the first place. Before this TV became the bain of my existence it was actually pretty good! I was going to write a list of pros, but seeing the TV reset in front of me twice in the ten minutes this review has taken, leaves me unmotivated to do so. Unfortunately the problems started after the return policy expired, so I'll be stuck with this lemon for the foreseeable future. There are plenty of other reviews with the pros, and if you decide to buy this TV I hope you have better luck than I have. It's been nothing but frustration, and hours of research have yielded no fix for the problems I have. Read more

The Vizio 58" D58-D3 Class UHD Full-Array LED that I purchased is an excellent tv and the 58" fit the room I watch it in is the perfect size. After some fine-tuning of picture, etc., I got a beautiful picture that is as good as any 4K Ultra tv as I have seen. Took a bit to get it all set up but was not difficult to do. I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I am not sure about the sound since the speakers are in the back, although it does have a good sound for a tv. I do have it connected to my home stereo system, and found the perfect volume level to add to it and the sound is fine. I would highly recommend Vizio! I have had the tv now for just over 2 weeks. I bought this as a computer monitor. It worked. I'm running an over clocked 6 processor chip @ 4.2 ghz with a pair of evga 770s. I set the Nvidia driver to 60 hz. I'm using the HDMI input that this tv provides that is dedicated to higher refresh rates. 4k requires some procesing power. From where I stand there is some color fade in the corners. But that is only because if the close viewing angle. When standing a little further back the color and clarity are really nice. There are a lot of tuning options for setting the color too. I had to get a new bluray player for the computer. Something about 4k playback. But it worked too. Sound also. I set the computer to send raw sound data and set the tv to Bitstream and my receiver is playing the results in full surround properly. I like that the tv is wifi and come with the Netflix app. I've read not to do competitive gaming because of the slight timing difference between input and visual response. But I haven't seen that yet. And I'm not a competitive gamer though I have run a game or two on this monitor already. Read more
