I was looking for boots that have laces and zipper that I can wear with pants as well as dresses. They look elegant and functional, seem sturdy and are comfortable for walking. Why I bought these boots: I wanted boots that I could wear for Scottish festivals with a Scottish style dress and tartan knee high socks, that look at least somewhat authentic for the style, and that have low heels. I bought 9, slightly large (usual size 8.5) because I have to wear inserts for heel and arch support. The width is somewhat narrow so individuals with a wide foot might not like them. I saw another reviewer complain about some puckering where the toes join to the foot, but purchasers need to remember that the uppers are not leather. On the other hand, the composite materials used in the design should be waterproof which is great for me. What I like: *comfortable sole, some padding *lining on the inside makes the boot interior comfortable; no rough edges *combination of laces and zipper makes the fit customizable *reasonable price and decent quality What I don’t like: *lacks venting for air circulation, feet can get too warm, but that is expected. These boots are so comfortable, I’ve been wearing them daily since I received them. The quality for the price is great. The color is beautiful and I like how the the brown darkens by the toes. I only gave a 4 star because of the laces. One was frayed in the middle and they feel so stiff that if I bent them hard enough they’ll snap, which I didn’t want to attempt. 😂 BUT the more I’m wearing them, the softer they’re becoming. I tend to like extra long laces and was planning on replacing them anyway. Overall, I love them. Read more
The boot looks really good - but it is the fit, the comfort , and the price that make it the big winner. I love wearing boots, but a lot of boots just don’t make the grade - they look cheap, or they don’t fit right, the style is atrocious, the color is just plain ugly, or only the independently wealthy can afford them. When I tried these on, I was astonished at the comfort. I have other boots that I thought were comfortable, but these boots? - like walking on clouds. They are easy to get on and off with the zippers (a firm requirement for me), the color is spot on, they look fantastic - oh, and did I mention that they are so comfortable I barely know I am wearing boots? I have to keep looking at my feet because it feels like I have forgotten to finish dressing! I especially like the look of the double buckles, but I wish they were at the bottoms of the boots instead of the tops, because I am the only one who gets to see them, and then only when I am putting them on. Otherwise, the buckles at the top are hidden from the crowds instead of peeking out below the hems with each step. I have been trying to find a pair of boots for my hubby, and the male population isn’t nearly as fortunate as we girls. I can’t find anything in the men’s department that begins to compare with these boots. In fact, he and I are both wondering if we can make a pair of these boots fit his male foot. Shoes are soft to ware, no break-in time needed. Design is clean and classic. However, they have loud squishy noise that is very noticeably when walking indoors, sounds like the shoes are soaking wet and water is squished out of the material on every step, very embarrassing. Read more
I bought these for a theater performance, because I needed something comfortable and period accurate (no one can see the zippers, it's fine!). It took a few days to break in, but when I say that these are now my favorite shoes, I am not exaggerating. I love how they look. I love the cushioning and support. They're now my go-to shoe for nearly everything. I would definitely buy these boots again. Read more
These shoes are awesome! They have to be hands down the most comfortable shoe. I can walk all day in these with neuropathy and I’m not hurting at all. In fact this is my second pair💪 Read more
