It is Bright, The Colors are Fun; but It is kind of Cheesey & Quite Kitschy. I thought might be fun for our tiki lounge; but my husband hates it. Since it has to be plugged in, there are limited places that it can go. It looks like it does in the photos. We do not think it is as exciting as they make it sound. It is OK. My hubby gives it 3 stars, I gave it an extra half of a star, since the colors are fun. We rounded up. It would be fun with dinosaurs. It might be fun on a desk or a shelf, with other kitschy NicNacks. I was hoping that it would be the Volcano Light, that he had been looking for. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This volcano nightlight is really cool, colorful and something I would have loved as a kid. It is made of sturdy plastic. The black portions are not see-through but the red lava areas are somewhat see-through, so the light inside can really make it glow. The light plugs into a wall outlet, in other words this is not battery-operated nor does it have a USB port for charging like some novelty lights do these days. This light also does not have a remote, which I am fine with, since kids tend to lose those tiny little remotes that come with products like this. The lamp is a good weight and seems well made. It has four soft foam feet/stickers on the bottom so the plastic bottom of the light does not touch your furniture. To operate, plug the round end of the cord into the volcano, plug the two-prong end into a wall plug, and then touch the small round metal button on the volcano to turn the light on. The light didn't come with any instructions regarding how to dim the light or change the colors. As far as I can tell, you just keep touching the little metal button until it is at the setting you want. You can make the colors slowly fade from one into the other (see my video), or if you have a favorite color, you can make it stay that color. You can also dim the light. It seems you just keep touching the button over and over until you find what you want. I am still a bit unsure of exactly how to dial into your preferred color, brightness or dimness, or how to make it a solid color or fade from color to color. I'm sure that's just my Boomer brain not quickly catching on to electronics. I doubt kids will have any issue with figuring out how to work it. The next time my young niece and nephew come to visit, I will have them figure it out and show me since I have placed this nightlight in the guest room they stay in. They are going to love it! To an adult, a volcano on your nightstand might seem scary - BUT to a child it may well be a gateway to dream adventure land!! I know I would have *LOVED* this as a kid... It's for my grandchild, and I think he will enjoy it as much as I would have. The light level is just right, and it is STURDY - heavy plastic. Low voltage beyond the wall transformer, and a touch-control spot that's pretty indestructible. Well thought out. Adults might wonder about a GREEN volcano... but imagination land has wider boundaries, so the color choices are creative IMO. Price seems OK for a well made product to me. Read more
