Product appears well made. Filter is very thin/shallow so not too much depth to it. They quote filtering specs but never specify the lab and how the test was done. Not sure if this is really a filter capable of .1 microns. Want it to remove smoke in car but not sure if it will work. Biggest issue is that replacement filters do not seem to exist. What do I do, throw it out when the filter needs to be replaced? Their website is not running so can't tell if they are still in business. I will pay more for a filter I can find replacements for. This one is risky. Read more

Living in a city where traffic jams are a daily ritual, I realized recently that the air inside my vehicle often felt heavier and grittier than the air outside, which is saying something. I spend hours every week enclosed in that cabin, usually marinated in a mix of exhaust fumes from the highway and the lingering scent of my morning coffee. I decided it was time to take control of my environment, which led me to the VOLTORB Car Air Purifier. Right out of the box, the first thing that struck me was the design. It doesn't look like a clinical medical device; the sleek black finish and modern aesthetic remind me more of a high-end Bluetooth speaker. It blends perfectly with my car's interior, sitting unobtrusively on the console without screaming "air filter." Setting it up was refreshingly simple, which is exactly what I need when I'm rushing out the door. The real magic, however, lies in the filtration technology. The combination of a HEPA filtration system with a carbon-activated filter is a powerhouse duo for a space as small as a car cabin. I have always been sensitive to seasonal pollen, and during the spring, my car used to be a safe haven for sneezing fits. Since running this unit, I have noticed a drastic reduction in airborne irritants. The HEPA filter seems to make short work of the invisible dust and dander that usually dances in the sunlight hitting the dashboard, while the carbon filter tackles the chemical odors and exhaust smells that usually seep in through the vents. One of the most satisfying features is the intelligent air quality monitoring system. It is one thing to hope a device is working, but it is another to see it in action. The built-in sensor gives me real-time feedback via LED indicators, shifting colors to let me know exactly how clean the air is at any given moment. Watching the light transition from a cautionary color to a crisp, reassuring green gives me genuine peace of mind. It creates a psychological ease knowing that the air recycling through the cabin is being actively scrubbed of smoke particles and pollutants. The speed control is also a nice touch, allowing me to ramp up the fan when I first get in for a quick "scrub" or lower it to a whisper-quiet hum during long drives so it doesn't interfere with my music or podcasts. After several weeks of use, the difference in the driving experience is palpable. The air feels crisper, lighter, and devoid of that stale "car smell" that seems to plague vehicles after a few years. Even when I have passengers who smoke before getting in, or when I am transporting my shedding dog, the VOLTORB manages to neutralize the evidence remarkably fast. It has transformed my vehicle from a simple mode of transport into a mobile sanctuary of cleanliness. For anyone who treats their car as a second home or office, investing in this level of air quality is a game-changer that makes even the toughest rush hour commute a little more breathable. Read more

Features: Sturdy Durable Four (4) speed modes Amazing air quality indicator Considerations: Electric powered Must replace the filter You must understand I now have small children. My once fancy European new car smelling import bought while I was single, with that rich leather aroma, is no more. Even though is lasted way longer than possible, until the babies took residence. Now, the poor car’s new car smelling leather aroma is gone, gone, gone. In its place, some sort of funky smell that I just cannot figure out how it developed and how it has been continuing. So short of buying something that generates massive amounts of aroma, I thought of trying to find a solution. This, in combination with charcoal bamboo bags and Japanese grass, has that crazy odor been dissipating. What we received The filter is presented in a very sturdy, heavy-duty, rectangular cardboard package sealed heavy duty plastic package weighing in at about three (3) pounds. That package is about 13.5” x 9” x 4”, it’s big. It’s easy to open and pull the filter machine out for use. There are straps and a plug and instructions that are included. The dimensions of the unit are like those of the box, except this is not square, rather, flowing, like a wave of air. Made in China. The debate Now we will not debate whether this carbon HEPA filter does really work, the individual reader can decide that, however, whether real or imagined, we wanted to take advantage of the benefits of what this claims to offer. Which is to freshen the air, purify, extinguish odors, etc... Feel & Performance The filter has the look, feel, and weight of a fancy Bluetooth speaker, but it’s not, it’s an air purification system that looks like a fancy speaker. The filter feels light, but sturdy and durable, it’s at a size much larger than I expected. It’s big. It’s not something that you just stick on your dash and not recognize its presence. This is the elephant in the room. That includes attaching it to a head rest with that power cord. Too bad this was not battery operated. For me and my machine, it’s kind of awkward. Now, we placed this in various areas of the car and whether real or imagined, after a couple of days, the funky odor seemed to have not been as strong. We will continue to monitor. I did not have that much success with that anti-slip mat, maybe I am taking advantage of my car’s amazing handling in those turns. How does it work? The HEPA filtration with that carbon filter seems to do wonders. This filters the air, multiple times. Is it immediate? Like a spray. “No,” so do not have unrealistic expectations. This is something that will take days and may just be noticeable, so patience is a virtue. We think these worked very subtly. Odor This captures odors and does not give off odors. It also catches that which is measured in microns. This is said to last for 2,200 hours, a year’s worth of work is 2,080 hours, so this, in theory, could last years before the light to replace goes on. Maybe that filter can be recharged by some method. I do not know where to buy the replacement, at this moment. Where to place? Only limited by imagination. Somewhere in the motor vehicle where the power outlet can be reached. This works for our particular use in controlling odors and musty smells. Noise. With that four (4) speed fan, I can hear this. The jury is still out whether this will be an issue. Indicator. That is so cool. I am still waiting to hit premium air quality though. Value These are on the premium priced size but should last for years. Other than for a filter swap, which I am not sure of the cost at the time of this review. Oh, wait, every three (3) to six (6) months. Hmmm. We would select this again. I hope my thoughts were informative. Read more

After a week of use, I can't discern any significant difference in my car's air quality. Granted, it only runs when the engine is on and I'm in transit, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder about the device's efficacy. I open a door or window, and don't we kind of reset the air state in the car? And this is not an ozone device, so its mild HEPA filtration isn't going to resolve odors or anything like that. I'm a bit puzzled then as to what exactly this device accomplishes even if it operates correctly and does filter some of the air? Read more
