An excellent tripod! I have had several and this one is the best. Lightweight, but sturdy and stable. Great height range and easy adjustment. Swiss-Arca head with included 1/4" stud adapter means I can mount any item I need on it. I bought it to hold a relatively heavy spotting scope, but it also works great on smaller/lighter items. It works like a dream. Read more

Great tri pod. It has great flexibility in all sorts of different heights with its ease of use of leg latches and it has an option to add weights if in windy conditions. It's had a quick attachment to your spotting scope once it's installed on your scope. Would highly recommend this product. Read more

This is a good unit for mounting a spotting scope and didn’t break the bank. It is stable, adjustable and locks down tight. Tad heavier if wanting to back pack it. Read more

Very nice, stable, and easy to adjust tripod. A little heavy but well built. Overall, I'm very happy! Read more

The only thing that would make this tripod better for me would be to put height measurements on at least one level of the telescoping legs. This way I could lower or raise on flat surface to exact height on each leg and know I’d have the stability this offers. Locking mechanism could be a little longer, but I’m used to it and use this with my spotting scope all the time. Well done! Read more

For the money, the Vortex High Country 2 has a lot of great features. The legs are easily configured to meet the requirements of the terrain and the person, whether standing or sitting. Ideal maximum height for the person standing to use this tripod is probably 6’2” and still be comfortable. If you are taller, the Vortex Radian Carbon is a better choice. The Vortex Radian Carbon does not have a center elevating post used to get its height. The center elevation post can be removed if needed based on how a person configured the High Country 2 tripod. Well made and designed to be stable. If you are wanting a tripod with a lot of features without breaking the bank, the Vortex High Country 2 is a great choice. If you have the disposable income, the Vortex Radian Carbon is the one to go with. Read more

I haven’t used terribly many tripods before, but this is at least as good as any I’ve used. I use it for a spotting scope and binoculars, and it holds it very sturdy. I haven’t had any issues with this. But I have contacted Vortex twice for other things (I have about a dozen of their products), and they are simply fantastic to deal with. Read more
