I recently looked at around a dozen different selfie-stick / tripod hybrid devices like this. They are all bad for various reasons except this one. This was actually a pleasant surprise, given the usual quality from China. What I like: - decent ball joint (better than all others tested but not as nice as my really nice tripod's - very lightweight while still sturdy - easy open compared to other models - innovated space-saving features on the phone grip: lots of cold shoes, folds nicely, extra 1/4" mounting point on the back. All very nice. - the ball joint has a 1/4" screw so if you want to use it for something else in future, you can. The vast majority of other companies that make this kind of product have a fixed, unchangeable part that restricts your options, and will also make the device useless in the future if it breaks. Whereas, with this model, if the holder breaks, you can replace it, if the ball joint breaks, you can get a replacement, etc. What I don't like: - It's reallllly hard to take the clamp off the ball joint. Even with slip-joint pliers I could not remove it. I think it may be glued. I will try boiling it to see if that helps. - might be nice if there was a way to lock the tripod so the feet stay open. If you put it on the ground and go to move it, it will tend to want to close when you pick it up (which is really nice when you want that) but a bit annoying when you don't. Read more

I'm pleasantly surprised at how well this selfie stick- tripod works. I only use it as a compact tripod but for my purposes, it is perfect. I appreciate how light it is to be able to be easily moved around and it is still pretty stable despite its small footprint. I am curious of its lifespan but the plastic body seems to be strong enough, considering its price point. Honestly, I wish I had purchased this sooner and if I had the chance, I'd buy it again. I would be willing to spend a bit more money on it if it were made of more metal and glass filled nylon though. I would like to see that the legs be able to be locked into place at different diameters too for when I need an even smaller footprint. Read more

Love it overall out of the package. Have not had real world use yet, but quality of construction gives me confidence. I absolutely love the sleek design of the phone holder that folds down. Looking at the previous reviews I'm a little disappointed that they transitioned over to solid legs versus the flexible ones. I can see it being very useful on unleveled ground. The remote is super easy to use and pairs very quickly to Bluetooth. There are no directions and I wish they would have at least had the pictures that were on here for directions. The phone holder is super sleek and awesome but not exactly intuitive without some directions. I bought the eucos at the same time to compare. It has the exact same feet and telescopic construction. In fact it feels like the exact same product aside from the attachment to hold the phone. Eucos has a screw on phone holder attachment. Secure, but inconvenient to use. The spring that this one has is definitely the way to go. The eucos goes to 62 in instead of this one that goes to 52. Makes me feel like this one could have been that tall as well. It also has a built-in holder for the remote. However when it comes down to it, the slick phone holder, level, ball adjustment wins out. If this was just minor improvements like being a little taller, flexible legs, and remote holder it would be a 6 star product. This is a great product. We took it on a trip to Scotland. I liked the flexibility to mount a GoPro and phone at the same time. Using the tripod is convenient and easy. Extending it all the way does make it less stable but I never felt like it was going to break. The included clicker button also works well and paired easily to my phone. If it did end up breaking I would buy another one. Read more
