I am a contractor and wear collared button down shirts for work every day. These stays make my shirts look as good as when they were new. I was concerned that I’d lose the magnets but they are extremely strong and have never fallen off. Before I got in the habit of taking them out of my collars every day I managed to wash my shirts with them in. The magnets were easy to locate because they stuck to the interior of the washing machine drum. Don’t forget to take the magnets off when going through security at the airport, TSA will knock them loose when checking your collar because they trigger the machine . A magnet's power is primarily determined by its material & size however Wurkin has notably cheapened its magnets quality. Now they fall off occasionally - something that NEVER happened prior. Ok, the whole idea of paying almost $50 for a set of three collar stays was crazy. I thought about it long and hard and eventually said, what the heck, it's amazon and if they're not worth it I'll send them back. Well, let me say I've kept them and I will recommend them to everyone. The three sets of metal collar stays are nice on their own. Add in the magnets and they're incredible. The magnets are strong and actually, sometimes too strong. They seem to attract anything metal from halfway across the room. Oh and don't expect to ever put them back into the case they come in. I don't know how they originally packed these things but the minute you get the stays or the magnets close to the case, they're latching onto the first thing they find. So how do they work on your shirts? They're awesome! I don't like buying button down shirts for suits and since I used to wear a suit every day at my old job, this means I have a lot of non-button down shirts. Well, at my new job I never wear a suit so my option was to replace my whole wardrobe wit button downs or just wear the shirts and let the collar flatten out. I hate that look and the thought of slowly replacing my wardrobe did cross my mind. Fortunately I found these. Now all of my shirts look like button downs.
