I bought these on sale and for the price I paid they’re awesome knives. Had I paid full price? I’m not sure they would be worth it but they’ve been a great upgrade to my very old JA Hinkle set. The block that comes with it is nicely made, and a nice color. The knives are very sharp, but the spreader isn’t unnecessary item. These are awesomely sharpened knives, but they are also quite expensive. I consider them more of a luxury than a necessity. They are as sharp as a set of kitchen knives can be. Will the edge last? Hard to know this early. There is a honing tool with the set, and that should help keep them sharp. Of course, unless you know how to use it, the tool will likely be of little use. One dilemma: they should be hand- washed to protect the blade and the handles, but they are so sharp that you risk injury when washing them by hand. Nice to have. The set likely makes a great wedding gift. Time will tell if the knives can take ordinary regular use without blunting or damage. Read more

My wife and I have been researching different knife brands and decided to give this one a chance. We never regret the decision. Love these knives. Pretty sharp, cut precisely, smoothly. Haven't had to sharp it since we purchased it exactly a year ago. I usually take time reviewing my purchases and I think it's a good timing for this review because we've used these knives quiet a lot over the year. I don't want to go into the details of each particular knife, but overall, they all are made sturdy, sharp, comfortable in hand. Are these expensive? Yes Are they worth it? Oh my goodness you've never used such nice knives Sure the old knives in your drawer work but these are just so much better. They have the right weight and feel good in your hands. I thought it was a dumb thing to get but after using them, I can't believe I went so long without them. I don't like the wood block they come in because it takes up a lot of counterspace but that's a personal preference so take that as you will :) Read more

Fantastic starter knife set with every type of knife you could ever need. We’ve had them for about 6 months now and they’ve held up pretty well. A few of the knives we use more frequently got dull but it comes with a sharpener that works great to fix that! The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that the block doesn’t actually have a slot for each of the knives. A few of the smaller knives are too small for the large slots that remain when all the knives are put in their slots. Read more

The knives themselves are great. You can tell they're well built and they are very sharp right out of the box. They give you a decent variety for any job and I like the look of the white handles. My main complaint with this set is that the block itself is not made for the 16 knives they sent. Not everything has a place unlike my old block set and there are a lot of smaller knives included that technically do not fit into the larger slots in the block without being loose and essentially not securely seated in the block. Really kind of makes it look a big awkward and I wouldn't have expected that to be the case with a set this expensive from a bigger name like Wustof. Thought about returning but still on the fence. When my daughter went to culinary school at Johnson & Wales, they give her Wusthof Knives, I think because they are the best. So, when we needed to get my wife’s mother new knives I first thought of Wusthof. I located a nice set in a block with every knife imaginable at a very reasonable price.
