Reliable and Consistent Output at a Reasonable Price

Colton H.December 5, 2025✓ Verified purchase

This heat gun is worth the additional 8-15 dollars for the name brand given how many unreliable and inconsistently performing heat guns are out there made by unknown companies. The power is technically lower, but I believe it makes it more usable for most tasks vs only using the low setting of stronger tools. Nice attachments with the kit so just get it. Read more

Who knew I needed a fancy heat gun?!?

Biff MalibuOctober 17, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I've been comparing heat guns for a while now. I had two, one that had seen way better days, and a newer, nicer one. Both were the typical hi/lo heat switch, because that's all you need, right? Well I was using the good one because why would I use the crappy one, and after I got done with it I set it on top of my tool chest to cool off, and as I turned around to walk away, I heard it crashed to the ground. My tool chest is about 5 and 1/2 ft tall so it was a considerable distance, and when I picked it up, there was some stuff rattling around inside of it. It still worked, but I was concerned with whatever was rattling around would eventually come in contact with the heating element and start a fire while I was using it, so in the garbage it went. So I've been relegated to using the old one that even smells funny when you use it, for some time now. So I started my quest for a new heat gun, and I, of course, wanted a good one because a heat gun generally lasts quite a while and it's not something that you're replacing all the time, especially if you get a quality one. I had seen this Wagner at a local store and my first thought was that it was very expensive and why would you need an LCD screen on a heat gun? I thought it was a little extravagant and started researching cheaper models, but I kept coming back to this Wagner Ferno 700. I just couldn't convince myself at the time to pull the trigger on it because of the price and was about to buy a different brand that was the number one rated basic heat gun by Project Farmer on YouTube. I actually waited then to see if the price on that one would drop for the recent prime days and it did not, but the Ferno 700 popped up as a suggestion at an adequate savings, at least for me, so I ordered it. After it arrived I'd began checking it out and going through the owner's manual and I suddenly realized just why it's good to have an LCD screen and then the different controls for temperature and fan speed, not to mention the awesome cool down feature when you're done using it. I was super impressed at the control you have with the heat. As you increase or lower it there is a number read out for the temperature and also a little bar graph that shows when it's reached the temperature you have set it at. The fan speeds are so much better than just a simple high/lo like all the heat guns that have used my entire life have been. I never realized a heat gun could be so versatile. In the past even if I'm using the low setting and it's too hot for what I'm doing you just have to hold it further away and that's guessing. With this, you set it at the temperature you need, adjust your fan speed to where you need that as well, and if it's a little too warm or a little too cool, just adjust it to where you need it. If you had it too hot and you lower the temperature some you can see exactly on the screen when it's cooled down to that temperature by the blinking end of the bar graph as when it reduces and holds solid it's at the new temperature then, no guesswork here. No guesswork with the cool down feature, either. Turn it off and it automatically goes into a three minute cycle with the fan on high to run cool room air through it. And it works! The only thing I wish is that Wagner would have included some sort of carry case much like the one they sell for about $15 but always seem to be out of, because at the price point of the Furno 700, it would just be nice to have that included. That's just my opinion, and all in all I am super impressed with this heat gun and I'm looking forward to times I need to use it. If you're on the fence, Black Friday is coming up and I suspect it'll have a great price then, too and if you've been thinking about it, snag yourself one up, you won't regret it. Read more
