I had a septoplasty and sinus work done done to resolve breathing problems and the surgeon recommended I buy a nose hair trimmer. I checked out the various trimmers and the Wahl seemed like a good bet, so I bought it. When I received it, I unpackaged it and found that the overall construction was surprisingly solid! I was expecting it to be flimsy and very plasticky, but really, the construction is fairly solid for what it is. The only criticism I have with the construction is the switch knob is a little cheap compared to the rest of the unit. The case consists of a combination of rubberized-coated plastic and what appears to be brushed stainless steel or aluminum. The cutting heads are changed by twisting the head counter-clockwise approximately 1/10 of a turn then lifting it, and there is an obvious firm detent holding it in place. When I first turned it on, the light seemed unimpressive. I thought it was going to be useless (but read on) I tried it immediately, since after the septum and sinus surgery I have been using small scissors to trim the nose hairs. I found that the trimmer cut the hairs very close and cleanup was a cinch. Also, at no point did I experience any pinching, scraping or any other sensations one might fear from sticking a rapidly spinning blade up one's nose, and the vibration was not enough to cause any pain whatsoever nor did it nick my septum - a concern since my septum is still a bit tender. Also, I was pleased to find that the light is actually perfectly-suited for helping guide the cutter in my nostrils, helping me to see any hairs I missed. My previous impression of the light is now not a concern. As far as the cutting heads go - the nose trimmer is fine. The eyebrow trimmer is another matter: the snap-on guide is a bit chintzy; it does not clamp on well, and seems poorly designed. The feature seems as though it is nothing more than an afterthought so the marketing folks could add another bullet point to the packaging. The trimmer itself seems fine - I usually leave my brows to my hairdresser, but I decided to try it out. It does what it is supposed to, but I could see someone losing the guide very easily. By the way when I opened it, I found that it came with an alkaline AA battery - a really thoughtful detail! As a nose trimmer, I am very pleased with it and rating it a 5, since the other features do not matter to me. As an eyebrow trimmer, I would give this unit a miss, unless you want to glue the trimming guide on. Read more

Works about the same as many other nose hair trimmers but has a more secure grip and quality feel. The eyebrow trimmer works really well. My only complainnt is that it's very difficult to change from the nose hair trimmer to the eyebrow trimmer. I have to use a padded pliers but I'm old and maybe just a wrist strength thing. Read more

I've had an an old Remington I've been using for like 7 or 8 years. I remember back then it was hard to find a battery operated nose/ear trimmer that worked on regular batteries. Anyhow, the Remington is too dull now so it was time to replace.... I got this particular Wahl because it came with the light. And I often use a little flashlight to make sure I got all the "jungle trees" cleaned out. If you're a man over 40 you don't need that explained to you. This coming from a man who only needs to shave his face about twice a week, but needs ear and nose maintenance every other day. So anyways, I thought cool, a light right on the end of the chainsaw. But forget about it. The light is way too dim too be of any use. Hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. As a trimmer, this Wahl rocks! I hadn't realized just how dull the old Remington was until I used the Wahl. Nothing really special about the Wahl. It does work without any issues. The Remington never did. It had a problem staying on and often needs to be hit like an old crappy flashlight. Not the Wahl. Been a couple weeks and it's still cutting like a champ. It was about $10 from Amazon. Buy the one without the light if it's cheaper because the light really is useless. Both of the cutting ends work great. Oh and I really like how hard it is to turn on the switch. It takes some force. The Remington didn't and used to come on by itself when in my luggage. Try explaining that one in the airport security check line - buzzzzz. I've learned to remove the battery from the Remington or it'll be dead by the time I get anywhere. I'm keeping the Remington in my travel bag and the Wahl in the bathroom as my daily trimmer. For $10, can't beat it! Read more

The built-in light is dim and not properly directed to be of any use. Trims nose hair ok. Small attachment falls off easily. I expected better from Wahl. Read more

This is the worst trimmer I’ve had. I thought since it was a Wahl it would be good. It might as well not have a light and it barely trims nose. Don’t buy it if you’re looking for a good trimmer. My old $7 trimmer is much better and great light. I can’t return because I don’t have package. No Stars ⭐️ But forced to choose one Read more

Wahl Lighted Ear, Nose & Brow Trimmer Clipper arrived in great condition and worked great for trimming my nose, ear and brow hairs. The nose trimmer attachment is easily removed and the ear and brow trimmer easily attached. Both work great. I like being able to change batteries rather than wait for a charge... that is why I purchased this model. One of the attachments is really small so could be easily lost if you are not careful, but I haven't had a need to use it so that's not a big deal to me. The trimmer I replaced was poorly built and the switch stopped working. This one is much better and was about the same price. Very happy with the purchase. Read more
