The product description explicitly states that it works with the Breville Barista Touch BES 880. However, it does not work, and risks damaging the machine. After installing two different filters, the result was strain on the pump, and then water stained with charcoal drawing through the system. I immediately de-installed the filter and water ran clear without a filter in place. Hopefully I have not shortened the life of my machine. Since I bought these when my last pack ran out and did not install them right away, I am outside the return window. Very disappointing and deceptive. Read more
Perfect fit and easy to replace. We replace regularly and also descale on a regular basis as all water coming into house goes through a water softener. These are used as a cheap backup to protect the machine. Read more
Bought these replacement filters for my Barista Touch. As others mentioned, out of the box, these filters will not appear to work: you install them in the reservoir, add water, run the machine, and then the machine seizes — no water flow. The solution is that like our Waterdrop water filters, these replacement water filters need to be primed by initially submerging them in water for ~10 minutes. Once you prime the filters, they'll work as expected. You may note that the shape of the filter attachment differs from your original Breville filter, but this design difference is neither a flaw nor the cause of improper flow — prime and you're good to go. I dock one star from this rating because, at least as of this writing, the packaging does not include clear instructions for priming the filters. If the manufacturer improves their instructions, shoppers like me will spend less time trying to make the filters work, experience less frustration, and not have to go through the pain of either slogging through a return process or researching alternative products.
