We have used Watts Premier for 15 years. When they discontinued this brand and model at the wholesale club, we started buying them online. These seem like the real ones made by Watts Premier. Sometimes it says it is made in Korea. Our city used to use entirely underground water which measured around 450-500+ ppm with a lot of minerals (high hard rating). The filters with the main membrane, were able to bring the reading down to 5-6 ppm at 65 degree Fahrenheit. Now they have brought in surface water from the Sacramento River, so the reading is down to around 200+ ppm. The filters are able to bring the reading down to 2 ppm at 65 degree F. The water taste great in my opinion. Although it's not alkaline nor has the minerals added like other systems. We also had it tested by the local university UC Davis, with a mass spectrometer, and It is almost just straight water. We assume there is not much organic compounds since the ppm is very low. We are used to this taste. However, if you prefer the added alkalinity and minerals then you have to consider other systems. Read more
I love my Watts Premier R/O. It actually works out to be some pretty expensive water. I always take my home water with me wherever I go because it is my favorite taste. That said, I’m not convinced I’m doing our planet much better than if I just drink water bottles. I would really like it if Watts Could make these filters with a thinner plastic. The plastic is so thick and heavy. I do, of course, dispose of them into my recycling but do any of us really know if the items we put in there is actually ever recycled? And then I’ve heard it said that for every 1 gallon of water that I dispense, another 4 gallons is wasted in the process. So there’s that. I can’t disappear off the planet and I can’t live without water but none of us who live in a city should ever drink our tapwater! The thought makes me shudder! To sum it up here are the words that I would use: Delicious, convenient, easy to use, expensive, hard on our environment. Read more
When I moved 5 years ago I purchased the same system for my new home that I had in my old one. I've been using these for over 10 years now and the system is still going strong. I just follow the manufacture recommendations for replacement intervals and changing them out is a breeze. The only dig against them is the price which really hasn't changed that much over the years. Just keep your eye out for the occasional price reductions. Read more

Great package deal for replacement filters. I purchased my Watts Premier RO-Pure Plus filtration system from Costco but Amazon had cheaper replacement filter kits. Each filter was bubble-wrapped individually but came together in one box. Prime shipping was not available and the items were received in exactly 7 days as indicated on the order. Water now tastes as good as it did when I first installed the filtration system! :) I had 3 people using this filter and calculated I could double the suggested replacement schedule (based on how much water we were using) without any effect to taste (Red & Yellow every 12 months, Silver / Blue 24 months). Larger households may want to change earlier based on taste. I would still recommend changing the Green Membrane filter as recommended (2-5 years) due to the fact that membranes are the only cause for concern since it can be toxic if pieces of the membrane end up in your filtered water due to breakage which can be caused by overuse / age. Better safe than sorry. Read more
My RO Pure Plus system has been working flawlessly for over 3 years thanks to these amazing replacement filters. Why does ANYONE buy bottled water? I'll never understand it when there are products like this on the market. Simple instructions, found online anytime you need them in PDF format, easy removal and reinstall. Takes minutes for the 6 month, takes 10 minutes tops for the 12 month replacement and maintenance. I've moved my system from an apartment where I originally installed it, which took about 45 minutes, and reinstalled it at my new place with even more ease because all the tubes were already cut and the system just snapped back together. I have clean, easy to access filtered water for cooking and drinking right on my sink. I'm healthier and noticeably less dehydrated ;-) Read more
This is the first time I have changed out filters in a system that came with the house. This combination SEEMS logical giving you two each of the two (of 4) filters that literature says need changing twice a year. So, one gets filters 6 filters. I absolutely adore my RO water. The water tastes divine. But as a single person family, I expect that each filters will last more than 6 months to a year, especially as I travel a lot. Does one usage guide fit all? So I REALLY need to change filters as often as a family of four (4)? I don't think so. So, when I purchase again, I would buy one each of the 4 filters, which is an option from some sellers. In a less predatory world, the manufactured would design in a better way to tell when the filters REALLY need replacing. I have marked the cylinders with the date I replaced them so I can shop smarter next time. They could not have been easier to change. Old ones snapped out and new one's on. I'm a very handy female, not as young as I once was, so easy is very good. Read more
