Like most people, I often run out of USB ports on my computer and I have to unplug one thing to plug in another thing. I got this hub mainly so I'd have more USB ports, and I can also use it to replace my SD Card reader. Everything I tested on this hub worked as expected except for the Ethernet speed. I uploaded a picture showing screenshots of two speed test results. The first was taken when my network cable was plugged directly into my motherboard, resulting in over 700Mbps. The second was taken when I plugged the network cable into this new USB hub instead, giving us just over 300 Mbps. The speed test was over twice as fast when I used the motherboard's port vs the hub. I ran the test several times with very little variation of the results. I didn't deduct a star because this hub functions very well with every other feature. Plus, 300+ Mbps is still fast enough for most people, including myself. For the record, I have a gigabit connection, which is up to 1000 Mbps theoretically. As for other test results, this was compatible with my Windows 11 desktop right out of the box. I didn't need to download any drivers. Super easy to use: just plug it into your USB C port. There are plenty of USB ports for me now. Plus, I've had this for about two weeks and it's been perfectly stable for me. No overheating or lockups. Connect your peripherals and monitors, head to System Settings > Displays, and everything detects quickly. The Downsides (Mac-Specific) The main limitation is that macOS does not support MST (Multi-Stream Transport), which this dock uses for independent extended displays across its video outputs. • External monitors show identical/mirrored content (same desktop on all of them). You can extend to one external display while mirroring the others, but true independent content on each screen isn't possible natively. • In multi-monitor setups, resolutions and refresh rates are limited: the two HDMI ports support up to 4K@30Hz, while the DisplayPort can reach 4K@60Hz. But since everything is mirrored on Mac, all connected monitors are forced to run at the same resolution and refresh rate—so the whole setup is effectively limited to the lowest common setting (usually 4K@30Hz or lower) to keep things stable. • On base M1/M2 MacBooks, Apple limits external displays anyway, but even on Pro/Max chips that support more natively, this dock's MST implementation forces mirroring on the externals. • No driver-free triple extended desktop on Mac (that's a Windows advantage here). I picked up this WAVLINK USB-C triple display dock to expand the ports on my Mac and have something I can use on the go, and overall it does exactly that. One cable handles charging, peripherals, Ethernet, and multiple monitors, which makes a big difference day to day. Setup on Mac was simple, plug it in, connect everything, and it just works. You get solid 85W pass-through charging with a 100W input, so I don’t need a separate charger even under heavier use. Port selection is great with HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet, USB, and card readers. It covers pretty much everything I need. For the price, it’s a really practical dock that does the job well. The main thing to understand is how macOS handles displays. Because this dock uses MST, all external monitors end up mirrored instead of acting as fully independent screens. You can extend to one display, but the rest will duplicate it. Everything also runs at the same resolution and refresh rate, so you are usually capped around 4K@30Hz across the board. So it’s not ideal if you are trying to build out a full multi-monitor setup on a Mac.
