My kids are taking Zoom gymnastics, dance, and martial arts classes during quarantine. I was looking for a high-quality 4x6x2 mat that would be suitable for all of their activities, and this mat is perfect! I realized, after placing my order, that this company sells this "Personal Fitness & Exercise Mat" as well as (a more expensive) "Gymnastics Mat". I emailed them to ask what the differences were, and here is their response: "The main difference between the Tumbling mats and the Exercise mats is the foam core. Our Tumbling mats have a firm Crosslinked Polyethylene foam core, whereas the Exercise mats have a softer foam core. Tumbling mats need to be firm so that they can provide a stable surface while practicing gymnastics. If the surface is too soft, then it can increase the chance of rolling an ankle or spraining a wrist. Exercise mats are designed to be use for personal exercises such as sit-ups or push-ups. Since the foam is softer than the tumbling mat, the Exercise mat is more comfortable to sit and lay on. Both the Tumbling mat and the Exercise mat are wrapped in durable 18oz vinyl cover and are constructed to withstand a variety of uses. The one unique feature of the Exercise mat is that is has carrying handles." I was concerned that the Exercise Mat would be too soft for my daughter's gymnastics classes, but it is actually quite firm. I really love these mats. Not quiet professional grade (thinner outer material) but perfect for the home recreational use. The inner foam density appears to be good and firm so even standing on one foot you don't sink down into the mat but yet provides great cushioning. The outer material not real tight so you might get twisting of the material with your bare feet if you're trying perform movements that involve foot rotations but these aren't designed for that activity. Not like the high grade wrestling mats are. I use them basic exercising, yoga, stretching, and some martial arts training to help cushion falls and such. They fold up & store easily and even in the folded condition work great for elevated exercises. They attach to each very well to build as large of an area as you need. Well made and worth the money! This is a game changer if you are older or obese. I was limited in movement and laying on floor was painful. This provides cushion but is firm enough to stand on if you need. Great quality and easy to fold up. Can't recommend this enough. Read more

This gym mat exceeded all of my expectations. I already knew I would like it but I wasn’t expecting to love it. I have to comment on how amazingly fast the shipping was. I live in rural Alaska and to get a large package ups in less than a week is very rare, but they did it! Next the product itself is a lovely firm foam without being uncomfortable. The material the mat is made out of is also great because it is grippy without hurting bare skin. I bought this for my 6 month old because he is getting a lot more mobile and I wanted him to have a safe comfortable space on the floor to play. Most mat’s advertised for babies are only .5 or 1 inch and maaaaybe 1.5 and even then they are more like thick rugs. This mat is exactly what I was looking for and more. I also have two 6 year olds that now like to practice their “gymnastics” since we have gotten it which is awesome! I wasn’t expecting them to love it also.
