Love this Vest!

LynnJune 23, 2023✓ Verified purchase

I have several vests and needed one for the summer that had netting for airflow and that I could wash easily. This vest was perfect for me even though it is a lot more expensive than others that were in the $25 - $35 range. I liked the fact that it was a slightly longer length, lightweight, had the netting I needed for airflow, and had a lot of pockets the size I needed. My husband and I are volunteer docents at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, so spend a lot of time helping guests outdoors in the desert. This vest is perfect for the summer heat and makes it easy for us to carry a lot of what we need in the pockets. I also liked the hidden pockets and the RFID block on one of the pockets. It was a genius idea for them to put icons on some of the pockets so you knew what you might want to use those pockets for (e.g. cellphone). My husband was so impressed with my vest that he ordered one for himself. This is a great vest for summer travelers, too. Read more

30 Years In The Travel Industry Says, "Best lightweight travel vest you will find!"

Billy 3 SticksJuly 28, 2014✓ Verified purchase

It was many years ago that I started wearing a vest on my world-wide adventures. Recently my good ol' "Banana Republic" vest, gave up the ghost from years of use. Hence, it was time for a new travel partner. Knowing all of the needed aspects required of such a vest, I researched long, carefully, and well. The Weekender Traveler Air Vest in a size large was my choice and I don't regret it a bit. The fit was a perfect men's large and rode well over a tee/collared shirt. Venting is key on any trip; be it an airplane or car seat, walking, hiking or sitting, and this vest scored a 5 with mesh its back. The pockets are not only abundant, but well thought out. For example, at 53 I need easy access to both reading and sun glasses. This vest has the pockets for these front and center. My mints, hand sanitizer, napkins, travel docs, large mobile phone, charging jack and the like all found a home and I still had pickets left over. It passed the wash and overnight quick dry test easily. I highly recommend this vest to everyone from the hard-core to weekend traveler. After 30 years in the travel industry, I believe that this the best lightweight travel vest you will find! Read more

Don't bother with metro messenger man bags, this is a way better choice

Mad MasterJune 29, 2015✓ Verified purchase

In the past I always stuffed my everyday carry into my side pockets, however this led to massive bulges on the sides of my pants and having to pull out everything just to get to what I want. With this vest everything I need is easily within hand's reach. I carry a fairly large amount of items everyday and I still have plenty of space. First off, this vest has 12 pockets, 3 each on the front left and right sides, 2 on the lower back, 2 each on the left and right interior sides. Some of these pockets have sub-pockets for added options (and possible added confusion when looking for gear due to how they're layered). This vest is by no means a tactical vest, but it could easily be used as a smuggling vest because of its low suspicion and khaki color, as opposed to some of the other vests I've seen that are black and make you like a PMC. The vest is solid in the front, shoulders, and lower back portion, the sides and upper back are made from mesh to vent heat and replace it with cool air. The shoulders have the worst overheating problem and frequently end up full of heat and moisture, often to the point where I have to take it off during days that are too hot and humid. This is the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5, as this a major problem in the climate I'm in. All in all this vest is great except in summer, I recommend cargo shorts when it's too hot to wear this. Read more

This is one great vest!

Anthony KeetonDecember 20, 2010✓ Verified purchase

This is a very good buy. The vest is made of quality material, and came very well packaged. The jacket has just the right amount of pockets--not so many that you will be asking yourself what you are going to put in them, and not so few that you will have to load up your pants pockets. Most of the outside pockets have velcro fasteners rather than buttons or snaps, and there is a "hidden" inside zippered pocket. I like the small outside left breast pocket, which is perfect for an mp3 player, or sunglasses. The large bottom outside pockets are adequate for many things like a small book, maps, etc, and there are two elongated pockets on the right breast that will house sunglasses, pencils, flashlight, etc. The bottom back section has two pockets: one large and one small, which are adequate for a water bottle or a light rain jacket. It also has inside pockets for wallet, digital camera, etc. The vest hangs well and even when fully loaded is very comfortable to wear. This vest will be great in the summer months, because the entire upper back panel of the vest is mesh material, so it will breathe easily. The collar is also slightly raised to pad your neck from a camera strap, and will keep the vest from digging into your neck when full. Overall, this jacket is very functional and well thought-out; it is everything I had hoped it would be. I am very pleased with this purchase. Read more

Great Warm Weather Vest

Ernie GarlandJune 9, 2017✓ Verified purchase

This is a very comfortable warm weather vest. Here in Florida it's hot from May until November. I have had a very nice cotton duck vest I've used for over 20 years but it is not comfortable in the summer. This vest is super light weight and has way more pockets than most people will ever need. It's well made and I think it will last a long time. There are vests that are a lot cheaper, but this one will outlast them for sure. One other really cool feature is a set of small rubberized shoulder pads inside the vest. They hold the vest in the proper position on your body and eliminate shifting, especially when you have a lot of stuff in your pockets. Read more
