This is nice to have in a house tool box but I'm sure it would work fine in most shops. The lights are great. I do lots of work in my barn/shop and have a larger iron there but at the house it's nice to have. I have had this brand several time before and it never fails without years and years of work. Just received it, but so far so good. Iron hearts quickly and functions as it should. Light is bright and a nice added feature. Can’t speak of the durability as of yet, but it heats up and gets the job done. Read more

Great quality! Good tool for a great price! Inky reason for the 4 stars is that the replacement tips are expensive more than the unit and aftermarket ones don’t work at all(don’t heat well or just corrode then become unusable) if I could somehow get new tips it would be 5 stars Read more
Great little iron, and well priced for the model. The LED light works great to illuminate your project if you don’t use additional light. Heats up relatively quickly. I gave 5 stars but if I could I would do 4.75, and only because there is a minimal selection of replacement tips. You can only get the point or the chisel from Weller. Other Weller models have a good selection and good aftermarket support. This tips will not fit this model. Still worth the buy if you don’t need an extremely precise iron. Read more

Pros: Halo light and ergonomics are great and comfortable. Seems really well built. Cons: This thing runs at a constant 750 degrees F and is non-adjustable. Some thinner solder works okay but the thicker stuff just balls up with zero control. It runs so hot it burnt up my guitar tone pot. I think that because it runs so hot it just fried the tip. I've purchased my cheaper Chinese soldering irons with adjustable temperatures here on Amazon, and they work much, much better. Read more
