Worked perfectly right out of the box. (1) Red, yellow and white AV composite cables from my Philips VCR/DVD audio and video output ports to the comparable Wenter AV ports; (2) Installed a 3 foot HDMI cable from the Wenter HDMI port to my Vizio TV's HDMI2 port; (3) Installed a USB cable from the TV's only USB port to the Wenter USB-C port to supply power [5V] to the Wenter AV to HDMI Converter. Initially, after I hooked this up to our new Samsung 65 in. TV, it appeared to be doing nothing. It turned out that I had the audio and video cables hooked up to the "in" terminals instead of the "out" terminals on the back of our HiFi VHS VCR. Now it works flawlessly. No complaints.
