I have bought nine of these hard drives and I'm still waiting on four of these to arrive today. The five hard drives I'm currently using works and TrueNAS saw each drives without any problems and the S.M.A.R.T test/results still shows the drives as good. It was extremely well packaged and If I didn't know I bought a recertified drive. You could past it off as new. I can't speak on long-term reliability of these drives as I just started using the current five within the last week and I'm still waiting on four additional hard drives. As of right now I'm extremely happy with the purchase of these drives. Also, for just regular home lab use, these drives should last about three to five years at least. You have to remember these are enterprise drives and not just regular NAS hard drives. These are made for 24/7/365 of continuous use. I have the drives in a 24 bay storage enclosure with high airflow. I'm planning on putting it in my basement to keep the system cool/cooler year-round. TLDR: As of writting this review, I'm extremely happy with the five current drives of these that I ordered four more drives. I can't speak for long-term reliability but I'm happy right now. Read more

Can't complain. Saved a good $100 with a refurbished drive. It's been running a week without issues and I anticipate it will give me approximately 30 days of recording time for 6 cameras at 4k. Way better than the 7 days at most I was getting with 2 TB. The only noticeable difference is it is noticeably noisier when writing to disk. Read more

Using this and another used drive for backups of my NAS. Drive is quiet and holds lots of data. Formatted in NTFS so I can read it on any Windows box. Read more

I've purchased 2 of these drives. Both failed within 2 weeks of light usage only as a backup drive. Both spin up, but neither appear as a valid/usable drive (including as unformatted/etc) after just over a week of writing. Read more

Originally thought 2 drives were DOA. Neither Amazon nor WesternDigital offered any support. Turns out they are not compatible with my PC, but did work in my NVR. I tried 3 different SATA to USB adapters on PC, and all 3 worked with other drives. I assumed the drives needed to be initialized, but they didnt even show up in the disk management tool to be initialized. Updating my rating to 2 as the drives do work, at least to some degree. Leaving it low because there is still no support and they still dont work on my PC. Read more

The drive arrived in good shape. CrystalDiskinfo reports the dives is in good condition. it has just over 3 years run time. This fine for me since it will be used as file backup and only run occasionally to add file. I would recommend for this purpose. Read more
