The brightness is comparable to the high pressure sodium light it’s replacing. Lights up backyard very well. It might even be a tad brighter. I touched it after it had been running for hours and it was barely warm to the touch, so it’ll probably last long. Highly recommend. If you’re replacing any sort of high pressure light, just make sure to bypass/remove the ballast in your fixture as per the instructions that came in the box. Read more

These bulbs last about one month in our HOA light fixtures. They are supposed to last 10,000 hours but always burn out when they hit about 240 hours. I have to wonder if there is a manufacturing defect with these, and my theory is the screw/shank is too short, which results in arc at the base and the bulb overheating. But that is just a guess, I do not see any indications of arcing or heat damage on them though. It was $170 basically wasted, but I had high hopes. When back to sodium based bulbs which last about a year or about 3000 hours of use. Read more

Placed in an outdoor security fixture for area lighting. They are a brite white light, but do not have the area reach that our old 150 watt high pressure sodium lamp had. They use 114 less watts, so it is about one fourth the cost to operate. I don't know how many years the LED bulb will last. Time can only tell. The HPS bulbs lasted 6-7 years before burn out. When the LED does burn out, I will have to do the math to see which is actually cheaper to use. So far, so good. Read more
