The minute I opened this mattress pad, I was impressed with its quality. It is heavy, solid cotton, and I love the feel. You do have to wash it first, though, as I believe it was manufactured to be oversized to accommodate shrinkage. It fit perfectly and easily on my king-sized bed after being washed. And be prepared to reposition it in the dryer a couple of times, as with any heavy cotton bedding, it will dry on the outside of the pad and stay damp in the middle unless you reposition it a few times.
