I'm not sure how much sun protection it will provide on it's own.

I planned to wear this on its own, not under a helmet.The material is very thin, so I'm not sure how much Sun protection it will provide. They do not specify an SPF rating. But, overall it functions as advertised. I did however purchase an alternative, that had a 30 SPF rating, that is more of a mesh material, versus this which is purely cotton. I can see my hands about equally through both, so this is probably fine for a certain amount of sun protection. Read more
