These boots fit my wide calves really well and do not feel tight at all, which is hard to find. I like the lace up back because I can adjust the fit and it looks cute too. The chunky heel feels stable but unfortunately it was not. It started coming apart from the leather and separating as soon as I put them on. I have womens size 10 wide feet and my calves are 20 inches circumference at the widest spot. I have NEVER, and I do mean NEVER been able to wear any boots, because I can't even get them on my legs! So I bought these just to try. (I actually saw them on vine, but missed out on getting there.) They fit! This hasn't ever happened before and I am amazed. I did need assistance in getting the laces tied in back and they took me a few minutes getting them on and getting the tongue situated. Zipper was easy to use and opened only part way up the boot to give just enough room to slide foot inside. I wore them for about 30 minutes or so and tried on a bunch of dresses to see which ones they looked best with. But my toes were going a bit numb and the arch support was non-existent. Even though they are awesome boots and I'm glad for once in my life I could wear some, I will return because I'm old enough to know I shouldn't keep shoes that make my feet hurt. I've had a problem in the past with tall boots fitting over my lower legs, so I thought these boots would be great for me. In addition to that, I thought the squared-off toe box would be comfortable for my bunions (it was). However, since I've lost weight recently, I didn't know how much things had changed. These boots are nice and stylish, and even though they still fit, there was a gap of about 1-2" in the back of my newly-thin calves, even while the back was laced up as tight as could be. The heel is very chunky and cool looking, but for some reason, when I walk, the way it's positioned made my knee lock up so I felt unstable. I had planned on wearing them to a convention but didn't think they'd be comfortable for a long day of walking. They are well made, even though not leather, and seem fairly durable. I have thicker calves, especially after being pregnant and finding boots that actually fit has always been a struggle. I love a good chunky heel, but I’ve never been able to wear anything taller than ankle boots without feeling squeezed or uncomfortable. So I was really excited to give these a try. I can definitely say they are made with thicker calves in mind. They slipped on without a fight (which never happens for me!), and there’s actually extra room inside, honestly a little more than I personally prefer, but it will be great for anyone who needs that added space or wants to wear thicker socks. I love boots. I have a lot of boots. I wanted to love these boots, but as some of the other reviews mention, these are not wide calf boots. You could fit two calves in these boots. Huge downside, but that's really the only truly bad thing. I love the style, the chunky heel is great for people who like to feel a little bit taller, but can't wear thinner heels. They are super shiny and I actually like that, but if you'd rather have a matte kind of color you're not going to like these. I love the lace-up in the back, however it really does nothing too tighten up the boots around your calves, which again kind of a bummer. Very much like the the interior half zip, easy to get on, easy to take off. The only other thing that I would want to mention is that if you're looking for a boot you can wear in any kind of snow, these are not those boots. My only qualm with these is the amount of tread that you get for how thick the heel is. The bottom of the shoe is definitely thick enough to support a little bit deeper tread and you get just a really thin ribbing closer to almost like a high heel shoe but for outdoors. Other than that, the material is actually decently thick, so it should hold up fairly well. The zipper is more than just a bargain brand zipper. The threading on the back is acute, and the tassels have metal snaps on them, which is appreciated for reinforcement, and overall they fit well and feel well-made. While looking great. Read more
