Customers say
Customers enjoy this Jason Statham action movie for its fantastic fight choreography and non-stop action sequences. The movie receives positive feedback for its entertainment value, with customers finding it very entertaining and worth a second viewing. The storyline and pacing receive mixed reactions - while some praise the story line, others find it thin, and many note it takes too long to get going.

Great Movie! Jason Statham has always been fantastic in the Transporter movies, and this was no let down in the action arena! The movie had some nice humor and of course Jason kicked a lot of people's back end. I don't want to put any teasers on this, but I will share some things as PRO and CONS. PROS: 1. Plenty of action scenes, with typical Jason Statham style fighting. 2. Story line is easy to follow and doesn't jump around a lot to cause confusion. 3. Story seemed believable. Not one of those movies where you're like "yeah, right (eye roll)". CONS: 1. If you are an action movie purist, then this is not for you. There IS a story line. 2. Not a lot of mystery as to what is about to happen. (But that didn't spoil it for me) 3. A couple of slow scenes that could've been left out. Especially toward the end. Read more
No one will mistake it for great art, but it an entertaining, even sort of interesting addition to what I think is Jason Statham's portfolio for moving into movies that will require him mainly to act for a living. Based on this and a couple of others, I'd say he has a very good chance. Everybody likes the guy. Everybody knows you can't do what another reviewer I think called "a good solid Jason Statham" film forever. So, we're probably all rooting for him, and this movie, decent enough on its own, is kind of interesting for watching Jason trying to move on to The Next Thing. The movie is based on a book, which probably helps explain why the movements are pretty well thought out. I buy it a little more in retrospect than I did as I was wacthing it, so possibly they could have done a little better job building the characters, but it wasn't really that kind of film, so it's not really expected, hence no excuse to whine about it. I thought about looking at little details and commenting on them, because there are some that are nice, but that's not really merited. It's entertaining, a little bit not what you expect in "a Jason Statham" film, and that's in a good way, and, for once, I actually cared about the main character. It is not an "our thug is nicer than your thug" movie, which so many American films are. I wind up not caring about anybody in those, like for instance The Godfather. (Yes, I said it. I don't actually care about anyone in it, except maybe Pacino's character's wife.) It's actually a guy you could like with a problem you come to see he has to overcome, and with the luck to meet a Traveling Angel who offers him redemption. Not being a spoiler sort of a guy, I will say nothing about how that goes. One last thought: I'm enjoying the film a little more as I sit and think about it. That must be a good sign. Still not art, but a pretty good practice run for all involved in maybe making art sooner or later. Read more
I dont know why this got so many mixed reviews, but if you like Jason Statham and know what his movies are about you will like this movie. The action is intense, the story isnt bad and plays out nicely. it was worth the rent and i am happy i decided to try this out for myself instead of reading cynical reviews and basing my judgement off them. If you rated this movie badly it is because you never learned to rationalize your expectations so that you can gauge the thrill of a movie from the depth of your seat. Instead you had your foot out the door, wondering why the world let you down and didn't hand you everything you've ever wanted. Everyone else, enjoy the show. Read more
I'm not sure if the unextended version, perhaps being tighter, would be better. The first 14 or so minutes, before the title, have to do with a setup that is referred to later, but otherwise unrelated to the film and may be the "extra footage". Or not, as the case may be. This is the story of a security guy who works with a lawyer in Las Vegas. He occasionally goes on gambling streaks. He dreams of winning enough to retire, but always loses in the end, so does he /really/ want to leave? This is also your basic gangster film: he helps a friend get her revenge on a nasty abuser who is connected, and there are consequences for him. This produces lots of fighting, which was certainly worth seeing. But it never really rises to the level of a gangster film with an interesting character in it. This is because the main character isn't all that interesting. Read more
One of Jason Statham's overlooked films. Excellent screen play and well acted with Hope Davis & Dominik Garcia-Lorido as supporting actresses. 5 stars for well thought out Action/Mob Drama. Read more
I was somewhat skeptical since I had no prior knowledge of this movie until seeing it on my Prime list. I do not watch a lot of TV though, so I could of missed it entirely, but it felt like this movie was not really advertised much by Hollywood. I like Statham movies a lot. They do not have to be intellectually stimulating like Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, or pure excitement and kick-assery like the Transporter flicks either. I enjoyed the goofy flicks like Crank as much as his bad guy role that Fast... whichever one it was... Anyway! This movie is fantastic. It made me cringe at times, being a man. (not a spoiler at all) It made me laugh at the brutality of some fight scenes. And his interaction with the other characters is spot on for the character he plays. There is not a ton of character development, and the plot is shallow-ish... but the show was entertaining and very satisfying at the same time. If you want a good time, watch this movie. It is totally that! Read more
