I was worried that it would be a cheap, scratchy, thin material but it's a soft, microfiber feel, not a stiff, canvas material, which I did not want for couch throw pillows. Adds a very chic pop of color to my light colored couch. I really had to look hard to find a floral pattern that was stylish versus grandmother looking and old fashioned. I haven't washed it yet but seems like it will hold up well in a cold wash. The zipper didn't break and seams didn't rip while squishing the pillow inserts in.
