This mouse works great as just a mouse, but the programmable buttons cannot be programmed. I have two boys who each wanted the mouse. One uses a Mac and the other a Windows based computer. Neither was able to get the programming software to work. One decided to keep the mouse, but the other is returning it (he is left-handed and decided without the programmable buttons, this was no better than the mouse he already had.
