Good Documentary.

Pretty good documentary.....as a German armor enthusiast .....I found this a pretty good effort. The best part was when they were at the scene of the battle at Villars Bocage showing where the famous battle took place. My only fault with the effort was the lack of more wartime footage, as Wittmann, this battle, and his death were covered in German newsreels. Still I would recommend this dvd to any World War 2 enthusiast, especially anyone interested in Wittmann , Tiger tanks or Ekins and British Armor. Read more

chcjrboneβ€”June 11, 2015

This is an in-depth documentary of the battle that resulted in the death of Michael Wittmann, the famed German tank ace, on August 8, 1944. Much of the documentary is based on an interview with Joe Ekins, the gunner in the Sherman Firefly tank that shot the shell that blew up Wittmann's Tiger tank. Unfortunately, the DVD does not give you the option of turning on subtitles, and Ekins' thick British accent was sometimes difficult for me, an American, to understand. The narrators are also British, but I could understand what they were saying just fine. Read more
