I didn't want a cheap looking hat, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. This fit the bill. Yes, it is velour, and the band is green not black. But, the buckle doesn't look flimsy cheap. The hat did arrive folded and rolled in shrink wrap, so it needs to sit plumped u and perhaps steamed a bit to get rid of the creases and stand it up. It was also larger than I expected and stretches a bit, so it will fit an adult head. The lining inside is smaller than the hat - it doesn't cover all of the inside - and this limits the internal support for the soft outer material. But, there are easy ways to fix that. The brim is not rigid at all, and because it is velour, it tends to develop a ripple. Read more
