The design on this vest is very attractive and calling this an ugly Christmas sweater does it a disservice. The medium size was as expected and the material is very soft. Those are the only good points I can find about this. The material is very, very thin and the seams are too small and not sewn strongly enough. The seam around the neck is curled, or rolled, backward in the area behind the neck and it looks like that is a permanent position for it as I have not been able to get it to stay straight. Due to the extreme thinness of the material it has a sort of saggy look. There were long threads hanging about on some button holes. In the picture I am showing where the tiny seam around the neck collar is actually see-through. I have had a few ugly novelty sweaters in the past that were thin and cheaply constructed, but this item takes that to another level. Which is a shame as the design is very festive and bright against a dark black material. If you get this for a one-off seasonal appearance it will likely work for you, but I do not think it will last through repeated laundering or even more than a handful of outings. Read more

This is an adorable little Christmas vest! It's a sweater material, but it isn't super heavy, so you may want to wear it with a solid turtleneck or even an extra base layer.
