So, this sweater feels nice and heavy, which I find pleasant. The sleeves are a little poofy and roomy and taper at the ends and feels really comfortable when you wear it. I didn't notice any issues with stitching or any strange smells at all. There is also no tag at all, so this could be a plus or minus depending on how you look at it; at least you don't have to cut anything off, but there is no way to tell what size this is or what the sweater is made from or how to wash it. The neck doesn't make you feel like you're choking, which is another plus and sensory wise, I think this is a pretty good sweater provided you wear something underneath, I suppose. It certainly is very warm, which I appreciate as I live in a pretty cold house and I think this would make a great comfortable lounger sweater to wear at home or you can wear it out as a casual top over something else. I love to be warm & cozy in the winter - in my opinion, there's nothing like snuggling into a soft, comforting sweater! So I was really excited to try this sweater - the oversized style & soft-knit look really appealed to me, and I was hoping it could be dressed up a bit for work, or worn for more casual days, as indicated in the product description. Now that I have tried it on, there are pros and cons. What I love about this sweater: - The fabric is super soft, the knit is thick & cushy, & it's so soft against my skin - perfectly warm and comforting for winter. - Unlike a lot of my sweaters that are higher maintenance, this washes easily - cold water, mild detergent, air fluff, then line dry - I love the striped pattern - it looks exactly as pictured, and the stripes and texture of the sweater are lovely - It fits true to size (oversized as described) - I am 5'6, 130 lb, usually wear a medium, and the medium fits in a baggy kind of a way that is, again, very comfortable What I don't like about this sweater: - Unfortunately, I just do not love the way this looks on me, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 (not the fault of the product, but it's hard to give something 5 stars when it feels like it adds 10 lbs - not the look I'm going for! lol). The boxy oversized look that appeals to me in comfort is exactly what makes ME look boxy & oversized, and I just don't love that, I feel self-conscious in it, and that overrides any bit of comfort I get from it - In my opinion, it has a masculine look that doesn't appeal to me, which was actually underscored by the fact that my husband saw it on the laundry line & was like, "oh - awesome, is that sweater for me?" - The waist band / bottom band of the sweater is fairly snug, so it doesn't hang straight as shown on the product page. It is well made - the elastic of the weave held tight - but unfortunately that meant that it would stretch to hang down straight, no matter how much I tried to stretch it out. With the vertical stripes, I was hoping that it would be more slimming if I could get it to hang instead of tucking at the waist line. That wasn't possible (though I suppose if you really tried persistently you could stretch it out), so that tuck added to the bulky look (as it generally does on me). - I don't see this sweater as having the potential to be dressed up for work, though others might have better fashion skills than I do (actually, I'm confident there are lots of people with better fashion sense than me!). It is a great casual sweater for the right person, but I wouldn't recommend buying it with the idea that it would be easily dressed up. Overall, I do recommend this sweater - it's comfortable, warm, a well-made & high quality knit, a good value relative to similar name-brand sweaters, and is easy to wash and wear.
