I have been wanting a classic fisherman cable knit sweater for a long time but haven’t found the right fit or the cable design continues on the back. I have been eyeing this one and finally pulled the trigger and splurged for Christmas. This is a beautiful quality piece that I hope will last my lifetime - at 63. The weight of the yarn is thick and the sweater Is very warm though I would need to layer it outside in colder/windy weather because of the open knit. I love the length for my longer torso and the sleeves are quite long. I feel that this sweater broadens my shoulders and minimizes my hips on my hourglass figure - which is what I like! I personally would not go up a size as the wool fibers loosen and relax with wear but I don’t notice any bagging in the elbows. My measurements are 36.5, 29, 40 and I bought a medium - my typical size. I am not sensitive to wool and this feels oh so cozy and luxurious to me. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it’s kinda fuzzy so be careful wearing with dark colors as it sheds a little. The shedding can create a little pilling but so far is not something that can’t quickly be removed with a shaver or by hand. The ivory color is a little more on the yellow side than I expected. I have worn it about a handful of times and washed it once. It takes forever (3+ days!) for lay flat drying especially the neckline - that’s laying it flat over the hard surface of my dryer. Maybe if I got a drying frame to allow airflow underneath would be helpful. The last time I wore it I noticed the side seam coming open. I quickly stitched it myself.
