Bought this for my 14 yr old daughter for a school presentation. The pieces are well made and will be perfect for her needs. She is 5'9" and 115 lbs. The pants were barely long enough, but she is wearing flats. I like that the pants have elastic in the back of the waistband - it gives a little wiggle room an comfort. True to size. Read more

Boxy Unfinished Pant Suit

The stitching and overall tailoring of this suit is very well done for the most part. As an experienced seamstress I can say that with authority. Unfortunately, quality stitching is not the problem. The problem is inconsistent use of the pattern designed for making the suit, or perhaps, a mix-up in the pattern used for this batch of suits. The pant legs on the suit I received are very wide, unlike the slim tapered look of the pant legs shown on Amazon. The suit jacket I received is boxy looking versus fitted, also as shown on Amazon. As some customers have attested, the underside of the collar is not properly finished. The inner felt lining of the collar is exposed. See photos. The collar underside is not covered with the same fabric material or color as the suit. "Did they run out of fabric or what?" The collar will probably quickly erode and tear as there is no fabric covering on the underside. For those who like to stand their jacket collars up, that look is impossible to do without showing the different colored, fabric missing, felt lining of the collar. The color of the suit is beautiful (Khaki) and it matches the suit shown on Amazon. I ordered a size XL. In terms of fit, the pants are about 1½ sizes too large for me. The jacket fits too snug for my liking, not to mention the problems with the unfinished collar and the boxy look of this supposedly fitted suit design. I am 5' 6" tall, weigh 175 pounds, and I'm pretty proportionate in size from top to bottom. I generally wear a US Women's size 14 or 16, depending on the manufacturer of the garment. Read more
