These are very nice material. Soft mesh on the inside and a brushed sort of of nylon on the outside. They have some stretch to them which is nice. Color is deep. The inside mesh is almost as long as the shorts themselves. I have no issue with this, but it shows them to be considerably shorter in the picture. They don't show at all. They'd work well over a swimsuit or for running/exercise. They look nice enough that they could just be worn as casual shorts for every day. They have good zipper pockets. They do lose one star for two reasons. 1. If you get your size and have any kind of thighs (thicker), the pockets jut out when open (but not when closed). 2. I would say these are mostly true to size. I got an XL and I am a size 14 as the chart indicates. They fit but they are not loose like on the model. They're pretty form-fitting. Despite that, they are still very comfortable. They do stretch well. And the top doesn't have horrid elastic. The ruching is wonderful. Overall.. I do like these shorts and they will serve my purpose. Just a little disappointed in the fit. I was looking for a board short type of short to go over my swimsuit on a cruise for beach/port days. These do work and you could even swim in them. I wear high waisted swimsuits and none of my current board shorts go high enouch to cover the bottoms. These do! They get bonus points for that. I ordered a size small and I'm 5'0" and 112 lbs. The outer short hits pretty high on my waist like in the listing picture. I thought the waistband might be snug but it's not. The texture of it would probably leave marks after a while but I didn't find it uncomfortable when worn for an hour workout. The fabric is sort of like a windbreaker--not quite as swishy but definitely more of a woven feel. The inner shorts are a thin mesh and long, I believe about 4". I like how they feel and that I don't get an instant wedgie. They run kind of big, so they moved around a little when I worked out. I don't think I'd want to run or do anything with a lot of motion in these. I wore them for a weight workout and they were fine. The zippered pockets are a great feature. I can see using these for paddleboarding or kayaking because the undershorts are like built in swim bottoms and the pockets would be good for keeping keys and such secured. Read more
