Ordered Large. I have read reviews and followed advice, ordered Large. I usually wear size 4 or 6. Perhaps I'm ok for Medium, but since purchased for dancing, I wanted extra room around butt. Fabric is polyester, and it's stretchy. I have many belly dance pants, include high-end. Average quality belly dance pants priced usually around $30. I love these pants! I didn't give them 5 stars only bc they run a little small. I usually wear a small so I ordered the medium and they fit great. I am under 5' so I expected them to be long on me but they are perfect. No cutting required. They are very thin though. If not for the hip scarf I would be hesitant to show off my behind in these! I'm 5'6" , 200+ pounds and these pants fit perfectly. The right comfort, stretch, hugged my curves. I love the color, length, the stylish slits at the sides of each leg. Great pants for belly dance class... You can't beat the price. I got the purple pants which I thought would be more plum/eggplant in color but they are actually a brighter true purple color. I would have preferred a plum but it's ok, they are still nice. They are tighter up top in the bum area, looser in the knees, and the perfect length for me. Im a skinny short woman (1.57m) and this one fits great. Everybody at my belly-dance class loved it, and they all asked where I purchased! I have not use this product for so long, onlye one class, but I have to say, you have to take good care of this pant, if you want to use for long. I think the pants were cut well, I'm 5'7" and they were long enough and fell just bellow the belly button. But the fabric is similar to cheap Halloween costumes, weird gloss about them and thinned out at the thighs. The material doesn't breath at all and feels hot.
