Well worth the $$. Quality fabric. Natural feeling, thick and retains its shape when worn. True to size. I bought a medium for a looser fit. (Usually wear a S) A good bargain for the quality. Read more
I previously owned an Andrew Marc turtleneck that I wore far too often because it was a wonderful base layer for a number of outfits. I loved the feel of it, it held its shape over the years, and the fabric didn’t pill. I have been looking for an affordable replacement on Amazon since it’s no longer available. I tried Amazon Essentials turtleneck (poly/cotton blend, not the ribbed one) which felt dry and scratchy. I also didn’t realized until I received it that it was a poly/cotton blend, which I never would have made the purchase had I paid closer attention. It’s known for pilling and looking awful after a few washings. Those were immediately returned with the interjection “yuck” included in my description of the fabric. I reordered this brand (made of modal) and immediately knew it was the feel I was after. It has the same softness/silkiness as my Andrew Marc turtleneck and the same stretchiness that holds its shape (so it shouldn’t stretch out and go baggy). It also has the same feel at the neck: comfortable, stretchy, holds it shape, not constricting. I can breathe and don’t feel the need to pull on the neck to stretch it which would make it a no-go for me. I had read the reviews ahead of time and noticed some did not like the fabric feel or it was not what they were expecting. It’s a personal taste, obviously; I personally really like it. I normally wear merino wool when I can because of its breathability and the fact it’s a natural fiber but it’s sometimes too expensive or I can’t find what I need. The clothes I wear must breathe and feel soft or they won’t last long in my closet. This is the closest synthetic fabric I’ve found that doesn’t have a “polyester ish” feel on my skin. It breathes better than other synthetics and has a silky feel. That is an uncommon duo in my experience with synthetics. It keeps me warm without feeling I’m wrapped in unbreathable plastic. As far as fit, it has enough shape to it to not be baggy and have ability to layer but it is not so slim that it shows every part of your figure, it is what I would call “attractively modest.” So, I give it four stars only because it’s still a synthetic product and the fact that I have not washed it yet. I’m pretty confident I won’t have issues with washing due to experience with this fabric before and reading previous reviews on this particular product. One thing to note, I ALWAYS hang-dry my clothes, their life is greatly extended. I may throw them in for a short steam cycle (1/2 time) to de-wrinkle but that’s it. I cannot give you an account of this fabric being routinely dried in a dryer. My Andrew Marc turtleneck is still looking good after 6 years! I am guessing/hoping these will do the same. If not, I’ll be sure to update the post. Read more
I wasn't sure if I'd like the feel and fit of this material, and it's a lot more than I usually spend on turtlenecks (I usually buy them from Walmart), but this one is a much nicer look & fit for work and it surprisingly keeps me warmer. The color stays up nicely and it's fitted around the wrist which I prefer and is actually hard to find these days. Just ordered it in 3 other colors. Note: the site says they are 100% Polyester, but the tag inside says 70% Viscose (which is a partial synthetic) and 30% Polyamide (which is made from synthetic polymers). Read more
I also have this in tan which is not my color. That's not the company's fault, so I got another color to wear in public while the tan is my comfy-around-the-house sweater. Soft material but thick enough so it's not flimsy or see-through. The color is exactly as advertised and the fit is true. I wish they made one that was long enough to wear with leggings. Worth the purchase! Read more
I bought this sweater going on the reviews of past buyers. The body of the sweater fit perfect, but the neck and cuffs were uncomfortably tight. the color and everything else was good. Read more
I am 5'3" about 120 lbs and ordered this in medium. I normally wear small or medium, but after reading some of the other reviews decided to go with the medium and am glad I did. The fit is perfect, the color is a lovely emerald green, and fabric is like a medium weight sweater that adds no bulk. I have washed it on a gentle cycle twice and laid it flat to dry. It still looks like new. I am very happy with the purchase. Read more
I wanted to love this shirt but simply could not wear it. I found it itchy and irritating for my sensitive skin. Also seemed to run a little small, but as an under layer, I suppose that’s fine. I did return because of itchiness. For someone else it may be great. Read more
