Extremely Thin Corduroy, Shallow Pockets—Mediocre and Priced to Match

These Am Direct Women’s Corduroy Pants are serviceable, comfortable pants that will go with anything. The corduroy fabric adds just a touch of class. But it is extremely thin for corduroy. Winter pants? Only if you wear longjohns underneath! These would be best suited for late spring or early fall. These pants have two polite-looking buttons in front, an elastic waistband with belt loops, and true pockets in front and back. A wardrobe staple! The corduroy material is very thin—the thinnest corduroy I have ever seen. The corduroy ribbing does not stand out at all, really. (Maybe because it’s very thin polyester rather than cotton?). These pants are probably sturdy enough to last for a couple of seasons, but no longer. There is no stretch to the fabric, so you will want to make sure you get a large enough size. There is no lining or anything else to distinguish these pants. They are just standard, basic, everyday pants—but the corduroy makes them a little more stylish and classier than most. The waist elastic is wide enough (about 1 1/2 inches), which ensures stability and comfort at the waist. There are belt loops, if you want to wear a belt. These pants seem to fit true to size. The legs are straight cut. I am about average height for a woman (5’ 5”), and the legs fall to just above my shoes. Just right! These pants have genuine pockets, both in front and in back. They are made of the same corduroy fabric as the pants, so they will hold up well. But they are not very deep. . The front pockets will almost hold a cell phone, but it will stick out of the top. In the back pockets, it will stick out at least an inch. They are just cut straight across, instead of joining with the waistband at the center, so there is no subtlety, styling, or security. Not that great! Women’s corduroy pants can be had for a list price of anywhere from $10 to $42 (with “coupon” prices ranging from $9.49 to $36.99). At the list price of $19.99, these pants are rather cheap for corduroy pants. And you get what you pay for. These are comfortable, polite-looking pants. You could do almost anything in them! The corduroy is a little classier than broadcloth. But they are mediocre. The fabric is extremely thin for corduroy (even polyester corduroy!), and the pockets are shallow. They will be a go-to, do-anything staple of your everyday wardrobe until the very thin corduroy wears out in a year or two. Read more

Not your traditional corduroy

These are definitely not your traditional corduroy material. It is very thin and at first I couldn’t even tell if it had a corduroy pattern. The lines are super small. I ordered the black and it’s a magnet for fuzz and pet hair. Even though I was disappointed with the material, I was happy with the fit. I am 5’4” and a true size 16 pant. I ordered the XL and it fits me very well. Not tight on the waist and feels good through the seat, hips, and legs. The length hits me perfectly but I can see where it would be more like an ankle pant type cut for anyone taller. I think the price is fair for the quality. Read more

Comfortable And Warm

These corduroy pants are soft, comfortable, and stylish. The fabric is thin through the legs, giving them a flattering look, while still being warm without feeling heavy. They fit true to size, sitting at a mid waist, with both the waist and length fitting perfectly—neither too loose nor too tight. The mid-rise design hugs the torso smoothly without bunching, and the material doesn’t make noise when walking. They also wash well, maintaining their shape and quality, making them a reliable and attractive wardrobe staple. Read more

Looks just like the picture, but it runs large

These corduroy pants are all right. I will say they are extremely comfortable to wear, they’re not tight at all. They actually might be a little bit too large. I ordered a small and for me it feels like a medium. For reference I’m 120 pounds. They are very orange, the color does look like the picture on the website, but somehow it is so orange. Overall, I think the quality matches the price of the pants. The fabric is a little bit thin, but that just means you can wear this for fall well into winter. They are all right Read more

My Go-To Fall/Spring Corduroy Pants

These corduroy pants are an amazing choice for my fall and spring wardrobe, whether for the office or a casual day out. The material feels good and the classic corduroy pattern makes them look extra special. I love the front buttons and pockets, they give the pants a very classy look. The mid-waist design with an elastic back makes them convenient and comfortable for me to wear all day. I bought medium size and its perfect. Overall, I’m very happy with these pants - stylish, comfortable, and perfect for my everyday wear. Read more

I tried to make them work

Very thin material, I think the pants would have looked better if they were a bit thicker with more structure, the material falls limp on the body and fails to give a nice silhouette, especially across the lower belly it makes it seem like you have a pouch, or maybe it’s my imagination. Read more

Frumpy, dumpy, not corduroy, and so thin they’re literally see-through

These pants are not remotely as advertised. They’re super baggy and frumpy looking, and they’re not even made out of corduroy. They just have some ridges that mimic corduroy—except the ridges are so thin and narrow that they don’t really even do that. The pants are also see-through, which is weird. These are closer to gym pants or (really baggy) leggings than they are to corduroy pants or jeans or whatever. Disappointing product. PROS 👍 Reasonably soft 👍 Very lightweight (which isn’t really a positive for “corduroy” IMO, but it might be for some people) CONS 👎 Not flattering at all 👎 Frumpy/dumpy look; way too much material 👎 Extremely thin material; not a good, substantial feeling “corduroy” 👎 Not actually corduroy or even cotton/cotton blend; 100% polyester 👎 Inseam too long for shorter frames 👎 Ridges/wales are very narrow and shallow 👎 Basically see-through 👎 Lint magnet VERDICT 😤 I would not buy this again.
