I have ordered, and subsequently returned, a few of these already. I'm very picky about materials and quality, so it's been kind of a hunt to find one that meets my high standards. This arrived quick, neatly folded and packed in a plastic zipper bag. A branded tag is sewn into the inside collar with a branded paper tag that is looped through and hanging from the tag inside. I wash everything before wear/use regardless, but this definitely needed to be washed right away. There was a strange odor on the sweater that reminded me of a hippie store and mold combined. It came out on the first wash, so I was happy. I ordered this in black and I washed it in a garment bag on delicate and dried it on delicate for about 10 minutes before hanging it dry. The sweater didn't loose shape or shrink, BUT... While my sweater is still very black, the dye used did wash out quite a bit. It turned the garment bag (which was white) a dark gray color. I don't mind, because the sweater is still perfectly fine, but I wanted to mention it. If you order this in black and don't wash it with other dark colors OR you wear it without washing it first, plan on your other garments turning colors. The material on this is actually pretty nice. It is not exactly chunky, but it's not that thin stuff either. It's 100% acrylic, but it doesn't have that cheep, polyester shine or rough, gritty feeling to it at all. It's nice and soft and has great movement too. The knit is medium- not super loose where there are huge holes, but it isn’t super tight where there aren't any holes either. The gaps/holes between the knit are only about the size of a pencil tip. It is very well constructed, with clean stitches and not a single loose piece of material. One of the things I appreciate the most is that the neckline is even- not wonky like some of the others I've purchased. The sweater also has a nice weight to it. Again, it isn't super bulky or heavy, but it isn’t lightweight or cheep feeling either. On top of being super cute, it does lend a nice bit of warmth too. I am 5'7", 130lbs and 34B. I sized up to a medium here because I wanted this to have a really relaxed fit and I wanted to have some leeway if it did shrink in the wash. Sizing up was the way to go- for sure. The medium fits exactly how I wanted and the sleeves are long enough to cover my arms. I'm happy I finally found one of these that I can actually wear. Yes, there were a few bumps in the beginning (with the smell and dye), but it all worked out in the end. This crochet shrug is exactly what I hoped for! The sizing matched the size chart perfectly, I usually wear a Small and ordered my usual size for a fitted look, but if you prefer something looser, sizing up once would work great. The fabric is amazing – soft and breathable. The neckline design looks just like the product photos with that trendy, I will wear it layered over tank tops in summer, overall I think it is suitable for any season. More color options! This is such a cute top and fits true to size. It does not feel itchy, but is also not the softest material. For the price, I would expect a slightly higher quality material but not significantly so. Since it is a bolero top, it allows wind to get in easily as expected, but it keeps my arms quite warm -- I don't expect that it would be very comfortable in peak summer conditions, but it's very comfortable in the spring.
