Very soft, it's a 2 piece setup, so could put a lighter maxi dress underneath and have a completely different look. The material is dressed up or dressed down. It's exactly as pictured you do have to be careful with the overlaid piece.It's not really lace.It's just a random pattern of soft cotton that's dutchable in sea through definitely has a lot of give, but still very nice. The material is not that thick so you could get away with spring fall.You definitely would need something heavier underneath for winter.But if you're going to a large gathering, you should be okay.But it wouldn't be outside.Wear for late fall winter.
