Very cute and super stretchy skirt! I ordered this on a whim not really expecting it to fit (I ordered XL and usually wear a size 18 or 20 in bottoms, a Torrid 3 for reference), and was pleasantly surprised that it stretches to accommodate my 43in waist and 54in hips without squeezing me! The waistband is not fully sewn down, so it flips when adjusting the skirt, but other than that it seems really well made. The seaming is beautiful and I love the asymmetrical approach to create the soft ruffle effect. The velvet used is not a high end fabric, but it's not bad for what it is, certainly a lot smoother and softer than most cheap velvets I've encountered. The media could not be loaded. I picked up this really pretty women’s black velvet midi skirt with an adorable flared mermaid-style hem, and visually, it’s a winner. It’s lightweight, has a nice stretch, and the fit was spot-on. For reference, I’m 5’4”, 128 pounds, and the size small fit exactly as it should. The length came just below my knee, which is perfect for this style. Now onto the part I wish were different. When I first tried it on, I immediately struggled with the waistband. The elastic kept twisting and wouldn’t lay flat, so I took a closer look. The elastic is only sewn down at the top edge, leaving the bottom completely raw and unsecured. Instead of enclosing the elastic fully or adding a simple row of stitching to keep it in place, it’s just exposed. Because of that, the elastic shifts, rolls, and starts to pop up out of the fabric while moving. It’s such a simple construction detail, but it changes the entire feel of the skirt. A tiny bit of extra stitching or a properly enclosed waistband would have taken this from lovely to high quality. So here’s my honest rating: • Look & Style: 5 stars — it’s genuinely adorable • Quality & Wearability: 3–4 stars — the waistband issue makes a difference I’ll land generously at 4 stars, because the design is beautiful, but I really hope the seller improves the waistband. Perfect midi length! Very nice skirt! I’m 5’7” and 175lbs and this skirt is perfect. Considering the price I wasn’t sure if it was going to be decent quality but I was pleasantly surprised! ➕ -length is perfect -easy care (wash cold gentle and hang dry) -really nice color -decent quality fabric -good stitching -flattering style -waistband is elastic -looks great with knee high boots or sling back heels ➖ -this is just me being nitpicky but with elastic bands they can sometimes flip up if the elastic is only sewn along one edge. Overall this is good value for money. I really like this skirt. Perfect for Autumn/winter office wear or evening out in most seasons.
