Walked into my sister’s house wearing these and my mom and both sisters pretty much greeted me by saying, “What’s up, Chewbacca?” I wasn’t surprised or offended by this proclamation because these boots look more costume than fashion. I have a different pair of black fur boots I like wearing and figured I’d give this brown pair a try. They are not at all the same. Let’s start with the color of these. The brown in real life is more yellow gold flecked with black on the tips than the nice brown fox fur look in the listing pics. The color makes the boots look cheap and add to the Chewbacca-ness. The fur is super thick and long and looks like something you’d used for crafting, not clothing. Some patches look like they have cowlicks. This thick material forms a wide column that goes all the way to the knee. The foot part looks really wide due to the material and the bulk here makes the boot look comical. Combined, it’s not cute in an oversized way, the boots kind of cut off the leg, creating a stumpy look. I don’t have this issue with my pair of black faux fur boots. These brown fur boots shed a lot. Be prepared to have the threads all over your pants. There are no zippers or stretch panels, so with how tall these boots are, getting them on and off is a little difficult. It’s also hard to know which one goes on which foot. The fur cascades over the sides and sole of the boot, so wearing these outside wouldn’t be ideal, unless you want them to get all wet, muddy, and matted. My daughter almost tripped me because she was standing on the cascading foot fur when I went to take a step. I trip myself in these because I don’t realize I’m standing on the fur either. The insole doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and feels kind of stiff/hard. If you have wide calves, the top opening of these likely won’t accommodate your leg. I ordered my regular size, an 8.5 and received a set that has 41 on the soles. 41 US is a 10.5, so I’m not sure if the 41 on the bottom is the size or something else. These run a little small for an 8.5 and massively small if they are actually a 41. The width of the boot is surprisingly narrow on the foot considering how large it looks from the outside. $55 seems a little high for costume boots, but if you need something for a Chewbacca costume, these in brown could work. I will be wearing them around the house as they are warm and will keep my feet nice and toasty this winter. In the pics, that's my daughter wearing them. These boots are very fluffy and soft on the outside, and the inside feels warm without being too heavy. They look stylish with leggings or jeans, and the black color goes with everything. The suede material looks nice and feels durable for colder weather. The fit was a little snug. I’m normally a 9 and it was to good of a fit so I would have gone up a size. The knee-high length gives extra warmth, especially on windy days. These will be perfect for winter walks and school outfits. They look cute and actually feel warm, which is exactly what we needed. The faux fur lining is warm without feeling too heavy, and they’re easy to slip on and off. These aren't bad. I ordered the short ones as well but I definitely like these better. I will say, they may require some stretching and/or stuffing because they were shipped in a tiny box so the inside of mine initially felt like they were folding in on themselves. Very flat offering no real arch support so might require an insole to wear comfortably for some. Extremely warm. Glad I ordered these. Read more
