I'm happy with these knee high boots in the brown color. They have hints of a western-ish vibe, but they're certainly not cowboy boots. The little metal studs on the side give them a more upscale feel. The sole is thin at the toe - you can feel the ground surface you're walking on. The heel is substantial, a nice height for walking comfortably, and it makes a distinctive click when I walk on a hard floor. I find the vertical space for my foot a little tight; top to bottom there's just enough space for my foot (I have normal arches) and I definitely can't fit orthotics in. These boots are a hit. They fit perfectly. The leather is beautiful and soft. I like how the top of the boot is loose (versus tight fitting) so jeans could be tucked inside.
