Look, these are totally over-the-top boots. There is nothing subtle about them, and that's what makes them great. You will look like you are dressed as Chewbacca from the knees down...and I am 100% here for it. They're high-maintenance (what did you expect?? they're covered in fake fur!) but more comfortable than you might think. All in all, an awesome boot if you want something outrageous. Style: they're knee-high boots that are entirely covered in brown multi-tonal fake fur...these boots don't pull a punch. The fur even covers the wedge heel to give the full effect. The fur is a little scruffy (like all inexpensive fake fur) but in this particular case, I like that since it adds to the imperfect look and style. You want these to look like you've been out partying at Burning Man all night (or riding hoverbikes in a post-apocalyptic forest, or something else rad like that). Comfort: I ordered 7.5 and they fit true to size, with enough space for a thin insole. The wedge heel is reasonably comfortable, although these are fashion shoes, not comfort shoes. I wouldn't actually wear these all day at a festival, Burning Man jokes aside. I think my feet would ache. But for a few hours of costume styling (or partying out on the town), they're just fine. They are also very warm and cozy, unsurprisingly. And they're super-easy to slip on and off, with no buttons or zippers or velcro or anything. Downsides: the only real downside is the smell when they first arrived. They smelled like they had been sprayed incredibly heavily with car freshener, or air freshener. Not an unpleasant smell, exactly, but overwhelming. I had to leave them outside for a few weeks until the smell died down enough to be tolerable. (They're ok now). A few other minor things: they're not inexpensive, but the price is fair for what you get. And you do have to be careful with them since they would be hard to clean if you wore them anywhere wet/muddy/dirty. But none of these are problematic enough to remove a star. I purchased these boots because my daughter has entered her "feral but fashionable" phase, and these were deemed absolutely essential for maximum winter drama. I must admit, they deliver on the promise of excessive, unapologetic fuzz. The faux fur is long, shaggy, and a rich, convincing shade of woodland brown, granting the wearer a silhouette that is equal parts mythological forest creature and extremely committed Muppet. Unfortunately that same fur drags unapologetically on the ground, getting really mucky and gross, really fast. They are undeniably warm and provide a wonderfully soft, cushioned interior, making them perfect for trekking across the frozen tundra of a suburban sidewalk, even with the fashionable 2' wedge style heel. However, their primary function is clearly aesthetic, and in that regard, they are a cinematic success and a possible ethical failure. They look exactly like the maker skinned Chewbacca's slightly less famous cousin. You cannot wear these boots without immediately inviting comparisons to the Wookiee population of Kashyyyk. They are loud, they are ludicrous, and they are surprisingly comfortable. If you’re looking for subtle footwear, run away screaming, these are not that. If, however, you wish to achieve peak furry footed fabulousness and possibly confuse the local wildlife, these are for you! My daughter loves them, and I enjoy the simple comedy of watching her lumber around the house looking like an excellent, yet misplaced, prop from a space opera. Read more
I ordered these on impulse. They are very cute and in a northern climate they would be my go to boot. The listing didn't mention a heel height which is why I almost didn't order them. When I measure by feeling where the heal meets the boot it is 3". When I put them on I would guess 2.5". There is a tie on the back of the boot on top that you can tighten them, I think. It is a cute addition. You will notice that the "fur" is very long on the foot. I don't think wearing these in rain or snow would be good but I don't want to ruin them by getting them wet and testing that theory. I am not sure what the interior material is. It almost feels like foam but its not. I ordered a larger size so I could put thick socks on with them and they are perfect. You can order true to size basing on your needs. The sizing is accurate. They are just unusual enough for me to love them. Read more
These were cute in theory. Super tight along the entire calf and I couldn’t get them up my leg. I’m not a “big” girl but I’m not super skinny either. I think these might work if you are slender with very lean legs. I couldn’t judge their comfort level or how warm they are, as I couldn’t even get them on completely. These furry tall boots are exactly what I needed to complete one of my Halloween costumes ("swamp ogre" aka a play on "Shrek"). The boots look exactly as they are presented in their ad on the Amazon marketplace in real life and are definitely a quirky and over-the-top item. I appreciate that the fur doesn't shed from the boots and they offer a little bit of height in the heel, which helps elongate one's legs. The fit in the toe box and shoe base is spot on, and the boots are comfortable and easy in which to walk. For what they are, I feel like these boots are done really well. Most novelty-type footwear isn't functionally designed so well, and these feel like completely wearable boots inside rather than cheap costume boots. Overall, this brand has been very reliable in my experience and this product is no different.
