Another pair of boots that made me walk like frankenstein. Solid plastic sole with no flexibility at all. The velcro/ribbon system is very limiting. I had to tighten it and was at the very end bit of the velcro. I would not trust it to stay attached when walking a distance or at a hurried pace. Had to return. Too bad cause they are quite cute. The retro style with the chunky wedge heel looks so cute, and the red color really makes them pop. They fit true to size, feel sturdy, and the anti-slip sole is a nice touch. I ordered the Women's Leather Orthopedic Chunky Platform Ankle Boots with Hook Loop Retro Comfortable Round Toe Arch Support Wedge Booties Casual Anti-slip Daily Work Walking Shoes. This was a situation that these definitely were not as expected, had a lot of issues, and if I wasn't able to tweak things I would have been really disappointed. I'm not in a position to return so I need to figure out options to make them work for me otherwise it's a big disappointment. These look like the pictures, and there is a lot of shoe here as you can see. They actually look pretty unique and cool, in my opinion, but they also sort of borderline on clown shoes. They are not real leather which I am happy with. They are comfortable for me. At the time they did not have my size and I had to order a half size bigger, and they were not too big and fit perfectly for the most part. The laces are very unique and look like ribbon, then you secure them with Velcro on the side. Now, here are all the issues I noticed. Because of the way the laces or I should say thick strap/ribbon is, I can't get these that tight. The only way to tighten them is to pull the strap on top and attach it with velcro to the side. When I pull it at the absolute tightest without going past the velcro permanent attachment strip, it's still not as snug as I would like as I have small ankles. I basically have to pull it as far as it can go where it only covers half of it to get it tighter. If one had large ankles this wouldn't be a problem, but small ones may have an issue unless they are wearing incredibly thick socks to help. Another issue is these are incredibly loud when I walk and I would say obnoxiously loud. The synthetic leather is rubbing on each other on top, and I wouldn't even wear these because of it. I've had another pair of shoes that did this before that I was able to tweak by putting some soft material in there so the part that rubs is not rubbing against the rubber which helped it, however, I can't do that with these ones because you can see the material, especially since you can't get these super tight around the ankles. But I was able to figure out a tweak with this one and this is kind of a strange situation. I basically flipped the tongue of the shoe upside down and pulled it up which the underneath side is all black. If I did that carefully and really well then tighten the shoe, I could not tell that I did that since the strap/laces cover up the flipped part on the bottom and it just looks like that's the color of the shoe with the tonge being all black vs red. By doing this they no longer squeaked when I walked, and they also made the area around my ankles tighter which made them a better fit. They also surprisingly were still comfortable when I did this. Lastly, even though these look like the pictures, I noticed quite a bit of glue on the bottom, so that wasn't the look of quality. From far away you can't tell, but it's obvious up close and the entire area. If I was not able to tweak these like this, I would have given them three or lower stars and would have been really disappointed, however, because I was able to fix most of the problems and they are comfortable enough to wear, I'm being more generous with the stars, thank you.
