This women’s cardigan is one of the most disappointing clothing purchases I’ve made on Amazon. I ordered it in black to replace a cardigan sweater I’ve worn for years that’s starting to look a bit worn. Thankfully, I didn’t get rid of my old one before this arrived. When I think of a cardigan sweater, I expect something knitted, in this case a close or machine knit. The photos also make it look like that’s what this is. In reality, this is not a sweater at all. It’s made from a shiny, stretchy fabric similar to athletic wear. That type of material works fine for active clothing, but with buttons it just looks odd, like it’s trying to be something it isn’t. If this fabric is what you’re looking for, it does seem well made, and you may like it once the wrinkles are removed (there are a lot of them!). For me, though, it was not at all what I expected, and I’m very unhappy with the purchase that I made based on description and photos. I ordered this cropped cardigan in Hot Pink (size S), and as a size 4, the fit is excellent. The construction is well done, the sleeves and bodice are the perfect length, and the fabric is lightweight and breathable. However, I was expecting a traditional knit cardigan, and the material feels more like a smooth sportswear fabric instead. It’s still wearable and the vivid hot pink color is absolutely beautiful, but it wasn’t the classic knit texture I was hoping for. This is a lightweight sweater, but it's not too thin. I'm really happy with the thickness of the material since it could be worn over another shirt. And speaking of that, this thing has lots of options - it's versatile. It could be worn buttoned up or open over another shirt, or just on it's own. This is a warm weather cardigan made of lightweight material. I ordered the Blue, and it really looks like Peacock Blue - very attractive. It photographs more like Navy. I usually wear a Small, but sized up to a Medium so that the sweater would fall over my hips and still button. There is a wide hem at the bottom of the sweater, and I am not tall. Super cute cardigan. Thin but in a good way. Sometimes you just need a little something on your arms to keep from getting a chill. It's really soft and lightweight. I do wish it was maybe an inch longer. It's definitely not too short, that's just my personal preference. It could be worn alone as a shirt or layered.
