I really love these boots and hope they last at least five years. They are well made, the leather feels high quality, and they are extremely comfortable. I appreciate that they came with an extra pair of insoles, and the fur lining inside makes them incredibly warm. I wore them for the first time in 20°F weather, and my feet stayed warm even without thick socks. They hold heat so well that thinner socks will be more than enough, although your feet may get a bit sweaty because of how warm they stay. They are very easy to slide into and take off, and they are not overly tight. The non-slip sole feels sturdy and safe, which makes me feel more confident walking in snow and ice. The only thing I wish is that the boots were about two inches taller. Snow can fall into your boots when you’re shoveling or walking through deeper drifts. Even with that, the warmth and comfort more than make up for the height. I was originally unsure because of the orthopedic design—I didn’t want something that looked outdated—but once I tried them, all of that disappeared. They look good, they feel supportive, and they keep me warm. They pair perfectly with my ankle-length down coat and will be a strong addition to my winter wardrobe. I typically wear a size 9 in other shoes. However, these are so wide that I can wear an 8, as long as I have on thin socks. The size 9 in another style, was so big that I had to add the extra insoles, heel cups, and the 2 spacers provided in order to make them fit properly. I did try an 8.5 in a similar style, but I couldn't make them fit comfortably no matter what I tried. Anywho..... these leather ankle high shoes apparently have a thermal insulation as they keep my feet warm, even with the thin socks. I ordered these specifically for the velcro closure. While I enjoy the winter months, I get frustrated with the amount of time it takes to tie winter shoes, when I'm only taking out the trash or checking the mail. These winter shoes are quick to put on and remove. They're very comfortable. The leather is soft and supple. The shoe is so wide that I was able to size down an entire size. These shoes have great arch support. The insoles that come in the shoes are removable. There's a pair of thinner insoles, molded heel cups, and 2 pairs spacers of different thicknesses included inside the shoe box to create a more customized fit, if needed. Since I sized down, I don't need any of the extra items supplied. Although I ordered these because they're easy on and off, they're incredibly comfortable. I can wear them all day without any pain or discomfort. I've quickly become a fan of OrthoComfoot shoes. I highly recommend these winter shoes with velcro. I generally wear an 8.5 X-wide. In my experience, snow boots, rain boots, all kinds of boots run small, especially on a wide foot. So I got a 9 X-wide and they fit perfectly!. They're not too wide, nor are they too long. I'm wearing these with a thick pair of socks and they fit snugly, but comfortably. Not too tight in the toes on the sides or the top. No pinching. So if you have a wide foot and fit issues where the shoe is almost always too small, even with these, consider going up a half size up. These are fabulous! Warm. I'm wearing them in the house with a thick pair of socks and my feet are hot. These are going to keep my feet warm in snow and really cold temperatures. Soft faux fur at the ankles to keep out the cold and wet. The leather is treated to make them waterproof. The sole is thick and high, not quite a platform but tall. No balance issues on them, though. Seams and other connections are well done. The tread is good, indents and patterns to help you keep from slipping and sliding. Simple, snug velcro fastener over the top. Easy to put on and take off. Extremely light weight. The insert that comes in these is great. Dense and soft and supportive. It comes with additional inserts you can swap out, but I'm just going to use the ones that came with it. They're way comfy. Really outstanding shoes.
