My first reaction when I opened the package is that these were very loose knit, didn't look as though they would keep me warm, and probably wouldn't hold up well in the wash. I was WRONG! They are very sturdy, and the appearance of a loose knit is just because they're able to stretch so much. I have worn them almost every single day since they arrived, as my house stays very cold, and they are wonderful. My legs are no longer cold during the day, and the black and gray colors go well with almost everything I wear. I do wish they came in some other colors as well, but that is hardly something to complain about. They do slide down a bit when I walk, but not enough to be a problem. I wear long skirts most of the time and they never slide down far enough not to protect my legs under the skirts. They have been washed three or four times since I bought them and I've had no problems with them either in the washer or dryer. These leg warmers are so soft and warm! They are long enough to cover my legs all the way up to my knees. I wear them around the house now to keep my legs warm all day.
