After watching a marathon of the Matrix movies, I’ve decided Trinity is my new icon to strive for. Would Trinity wear these boots? Is that what you want to know? No, no, she wouldn’t! They are far too wrinkly, yet oddly tight. The soles have zero padding, and they bite into my ankle fiercely. The height of the heels shoves my poor little piggies right into the front of the boot as the sole has no traction or padding to it. But the worst offender of all with these is that they have zero stretch and are pre-molded. You can even make out a curve for a calf muscle in the back. That’s great and all, but that means these will only ever fit a very specific leg shape. Thin! Thin and straight! I should have known better than to buy over the knee boots online. Thigh and calf sizes fluctuate so greatly, it's hard to find something that works without trying it on first. These boots are definitely cheap - good for a costume if they fit right, but not really for every day wear. The patent look is very shiny. They aren't leather OR pointed toe, so I'm not sure why the description lists them as such. That right there pretty much tells you all you need to know. Read more

They are either going to make you feel like a walking billboard for a superhero movie… or they’re going to swallow your calves whole and refuse to negotiate. Thankfully, my legs were thin enough to fit these — and once they were on? BABE. Incredibly sexy. Like, “ohhhh so this is why people risk their dignity for patent thigh-highs” sexy. For reference, I’m 147 lbs, 36D/29/29, normally an 8.5, but I sized up to a 9 in the black mirrored version and that was 100% the right call. The fit is snug-snug (as in these really do fit like a second skin), but not painful, and the half-size up gave just enough wiggle room in the foot without losing that sleek vacuum-seal silhouette on the legs. They slide on like you’re trying to butter yourself into vinyl — slow, deliberate, a tiny workout — but once they’re up? Wheeew. No gaps, no slouching, no weird bunching. Just long, glossy, liquid-black legs for days. I get why some people struggled, but if your calves and thighs run on the slimmer side and you size up a half size like I did, these are an absolute POWER move.
